Chris Pratt comments on if he'd return to the Jurassic Franchise

Last year, the Seventh film in the Jurassic franchise ‘Jurassic World: Rebirth” released, and set the story in an entirely new direction. This film also chose to begin the series anew with an entirely different cast of characters, leaving almost no mention of the events of the previous trilogy. However, recently Chris Pratt has express interest in returning to the franchise.

In a recent episode of the ‘Happy, Sad Confused’ Podcast, Chris Pratt was asked by the host about if he was interested in reprising his role as Owen Grady. Pratt replied:

"Maybe, yeah. I think so. That would be awesome. I love that character, I love the team, I love Universal. Love Scarlett [Johansson]. I think that would be epic. We'd just have to find a way to do it in a way that honors the stories that we told the first three times."

Pratt’s response does indicate that he would be up for returning in the role as Owen, provided that the story is right for his return. It can be inferred from his reply also that he is willing to have his character of Owen appear alongside Zora Bennett, as played by Scarlett Johanson. However, most importantly, he wants any story to respect and acknowledge the events of the original Jurassic World Trilogy.

This is especially important, as Jurassic World Rebirth seemed to appear to return Dinosaurs to the Equatorial regions instead of being spread throughout the world. Meaning the story was now restricted to dinosaurs appearing once more in isolated regions, after Dominion had attempted to expand the scope of the story.

It’s difficult to say what Owen’s role might be in terms of the story might be, however there might always be a place for him if the story requires a Velociraptor expert. Given that no official announcements about Jurassic World 8 have been made, the story may still be in the development stages. So it is entirely possible that a sequel to Jurassic World Rebirth may still acknowledge the events of the Jurassic World Trilogy.
