Jurassic World 2 set photos from Hawaii leak online!

Welcome back, to Isla Nublar! Filming on the highly anticipated Jurassic World sequel has officially kicked off in Hawaii and locals were quick to take notice. Snapping pics from a number of set locations, we have a few set photos to share which seem to elicit a very eerie tone, coinciding with the remarks that Jurassic World 2 will have a much darker and scarier tone than the first one, which Colin Trevorrow and director J. A. Bayona made earlier on during production.

The primary shot we're focused on is that of a downed Helicopter. Earlier this year, we reported on a Jurassic World 2 set video which showcased what looked to be soldiers in a Helicopter, either attacking something (Dinosaurs) or trying to attempt a rescue in a very violent rain storm. The photos we're sharing today could be linked to that video and would suggest something happens to cause the Helicopter to crash - stranding its crew on the Island's surface.

UPDATE (JUNE 17th, 2:30pm est): The photos of the helicopter below have been confirmed as residual set pieces from Kong: Skull Island and not Jurassic World 2. Despite the video we referenced above and although Jurassic World 2 will feature an action sequence involving a Helicopter, the following photos are not related to that scene. Thanks to Reel News Hawaii on Twitter for the clarification!

Another photo debuted more of the vehicles which will be present in the film and like in previous Jurassic Park films, Mercedes Benz will once again be the vehicle manufacturer of choice.

The next photo depicts the lush landscape of Isla Nublar, but with a heavy use of smokescreen. The reason for the added smoke is unclear at this time, but definitely adds to the creepy / dark toned aesthetic the crew of Jurassic World 2 are going for.

A big thank you to our friend @ReelNewsHawaii for digging up these photos! Be sure to let us know what you think in the comments section below!

Now that Jurassic World Rebirth has been released, check out interesting concept artwork from the film! You can also find behind-the-scenes production photos in our image gallery, here!

Jurassic World Rebirth did extremely well during its theatrical run, earning Universal Pictures over $860 million at the global box office! The film reportedly cost $180 million.
