DeltadromeusDinosaurs ForumUltimate Predator Battle : Kaprosuchus Saharicus VS Tyranosaurus Rex

Sorry, but I'm just going to be blunt and say that this is pretty horrible, not to mention inaccurate. Kaprosuchus might have had a pretty good bite, but compared to Megalodon, Sarcosuchus, and some of the larger theropods, its bite is pretty outclassed. Since a Deinosuchus would be hesitant to defy a Tyrannosaurus rex, something as small as a Karposuchus would run away at full speed. Like Rex Fan said, a Tyrannosaur missing a leg and teeth would be a much more fair fight, but still, T. rex has a 7 ton bite, and it could just crush the Kaprosuchus without leaving a mark.

Yeah, I love it. I was going to do my own design first, but I got striked by this. Ang thank God I didn't follow my design, as this is 100 times better.

Finished, it will be just EPIC!

And RexFan, the design's not mine, but... hey, thank you! :D

I like the design. Similar to the visitor center and other Jurassic Park buildings. Good job.

Sci-Fi King25Dinosaurs ForumIs T. Rex Overrated?

I'm against the fact of a Tyrannosaurus' septic bite. Sure, the bite of it was really strong and infectious, but some people take the septic bite theory as far as the dinosaur being poisonus. The "poison" was, as you said, rotting flesh. Who's to say Spinosaurus or Giganotosaurus didn't have this bite? They probably scavenged a lot also. Also, do what I do. Stop saying it's the king of all dinosaurs. Just, please, call it Tyrannosaurus. (P.S. Tyrannosaurus wasn't the king of all dinosaurs. Dinosaurs didn't have a monarchy system) I agree. Tyrannosaurus is overrated, but Spinosaurus is underrated if you ask me. Other large carnivores deserve some sort of fame or popularity outside of paleontonogy.

Its been a little while since i looked up cryolophosaurus, something told me it was from the cretacious, but i guess im wrong because i looked it up.

That explains a lot. There are some species of fish that live that far north(small-medium sized), but not that many. Relativley small fish are rare in the far north. I wouldn't expect to find too many there. Squid on the other hand are pretty common, as are large sean animals. Today most of the animals found in arctic waters are invertabrates, large fish, whales, and other sea mammals. I would assume it was the same way millions of years ago, only with sea reptiles instead of whales and mammals.

Rex Fan 684Dinosaurs ForumUltimate Predator Battle : Kaprosuchus Saharicus VS Tyranosaurus Rex

Sorry, but this is possibly the most inaccurate battle of all time. The odds of a Kaprosuchus being able to take down an adult Tyrannosaurus are near 0. T-rex could easily crush the Kaprosuchus with it's jaws or even it's foot. The Kaprosuchus would not have had the strongest bite in the animal kingdom, not with Megalodon, Sarcosuchus, Tyrannosaurus, and a large amount of other giant predators. Plus the Rex, being on two feet, would probably have been more agile, even if it weighed over 8 tons.

This is even the smaller estimate for T-rex!

No, a battle like this would be short. But unless the T-rex is missing a leg and has no teeth, Tyrannosaurus rex would win almost instantly. I doubt a Kaprosuchus would even try to fight one.

PS- 6-7 meters and 1.5 tons is too high. 6 meters is the upper estimate and 1 ton is more likely for weight.

Hmmmmmmmm....... Uhhhhhhhhhhhh.......... Not sure what to say......

Let's start here: I was expecting a longer fight (title "ultimate" was misleading).

It took me less than a minute to read this, and I was rather disappointed (Not that Rex lost, but the way he lost, seriously, that would have been twenty seconds at the most). I highly doubt that Rex wouldn't be able to bite through Kapro's hide (up to an 18 000 PSI bite going into something that only weighs 1.5 tons, that's going to bite it in half, I don't care what it is, and if it didn't, it would crush bone).

Sorry for being so blunt about this.

Love the idea that the Cryolophosaurus gather at one hibernation site like some snakes do today.  Can't wait what have in store for your next episode.

It was early Jurassic alright. I liked the part where the two males got over their rivalry to survive the winter.

No, Cryolophosaurus was actually Early Jurassic. Feel free to look it up, but it is. Glad you liked it though :)

Nice job there dude, but im pretty sure Cryolophosaurus was from the early cretacious, and all of the prosauropods are from the late triassic and early jurassic, or are you just doing that to make a story, which is just fine.

RaptoRex, I personally don't like to say any animal is stupid. All animals have basic instinct at least and that doesn't make them stupid.

That, and, let's say the dig was in Kansas. Well, I'd assume the fossils dug up were from the Western Interior Seway. And Kansas was at one of the deepest parts of the sea. Small to medium sized fish are rarely found in deep water. That's the home to most of the filter feeders and apex predators. So, naturally, I would not expect to find many fish fossils there. That's why a location is vital in this.

Matthew CuellarDinosaurs ForumDinosaur intelligence

Recent research indicates that it's tricky to rank animals by intelligence because so many animals apply their intelligence and adaptations differently.  We need to keep that in mind when discussing dinosaurs.  For example, a big predator like Tyrannosaurus rex would probably be more concerned with finding large quantities of meat to feed itself than it would with forming the complex social bonds we tend to associate with high intelligence.  That said, it's probably better to think about what it meant to be a smart T. rex than how much smarter than T. rex a small pack hunter, such as Troodon, would be.

I agree with Sinornithosaurus , I think raptors were as smart as chimps, large theropods were probably as smart as macaws, herbivores=horses
