This goes without question, Zara.

IMO it was still awesome...

Zara for sure. That was just plain mean on whoever's idea that was part.

Raptor-401Jurassic Park ForumSo what now with Jurassic Park 3?

Yeah, that's what I was saying, since it's all science fiction it doesn't matter to much to me whether eveyrhting is innacurate. If it does, however, try to say it's all true, then that is different. EVen then in the book and briefly in the movie it does explain why the dinosaurs don't look like the more accurate ones we see today, that being that the Frog DNA and genetic engineering took away the feathers and was also done so people could see what they want to see in the attractions. (That being "terrible lizards")

That actually is an excellent point... I guess I will still acknowledge Jurassic Park lll as a sequel, it is actually cool to think of the history more.

EVeyr series has its bad moments for sure, even in video game series.

And I of course was not suggesting to completely wipe off JP 3 everywhere.

G. H. (Gman)Jurassic Park ForumSo what now with Jurassic Park 3?

I think I care about just as many characters, or at least care about them just as much, in Jurassic World. Dinosaur inaccuracies don't bother me nearly as much as some other fans here. These are movie monsters parading as animals, more than anything.

But every franchise has a disappointing movie. The Godzilla series has several, but the no one forgets about them. They're part of the legacy and history.

The same goes for Jurassic Park III. Of course I'm not sure how one would "forget" about it or what that necessarily means within the context of the conversation. Even if the filmmakers/Universal claimed it was no longer canonical, people will still remember it.

I think, for the most part, this is fairly silly. Jurassic Park III is what it is. Disappointing for most fans and if they want to forget it they can. That doesn't change the fact it still exists and there's no way anyone is going to wipe every copy off the planet.

Well considering that Jurassic World wa salos made to be a thriller and entertain Jurassic Park fans new and old, I think it was actually kind of neat to make the death scene brutal, because death scenes in Jurassic Park are meant to be entertaining, no matter how brutal, such as the death scene in The Lost World where the man (cannot remember his name) is eaten by compies.

Raptor-401Jurassic Park ForumSo what now with Jurassic Park 3?

I mean in my most honest opinion the really only poor thing about it was that it was simply just too short. That's just my problem with it. Jurassic Park has done lots of things wrong in the past, from making Velociraptors bigger to adding frills to Dilophosaurus. (I know they were done on purpose for the sake of making the film more enjoyable and suiting to the theme of the film of chaos, but why is it people get a probelm when they make inacurate statements to their favorite dinosaur which I still is way to-the-top overgloriffied.)

It is defintiely the weakest, that's why I say it shoudl just be forgotten about, as in the dissapointment of it. I don't mean to literally erase all of its tracks and to completely censor the movie completely.

And with that info about Joe Johnston's situation actually makes me be a bit less dissapointed about the film, thanks for clarifying.

But I think Jurassic World had far less problems than Jurassic Park 3. In Jurassic Park 3, I didn't love any of the characters, except for Alan Grant. (until they butchered up his character) But in Jurassic World I found myself caring for the characters.

Just my take.

Also Praise ALAN!

"Seriously, why do people get so pissy and butthurt of a CGI scene in a Science FIction thriller meant to entertain people?"

Because when they're done poorly they're worth complaining about. Not that I think it was done poorly, I don't have too much of an opinion on the JP3 fight, but to ask this "why" is feigning not to notice the obvious.

As for Jurassic Park 3 in general. There's really no reason to retcon it or forget about it. And quite frankly I don't think Jurassic World is much better or worse than JP3.

Jurassic Park 3 has numerous flaws with characters that don't have an iota of brains in them. (Except Eric, hilariously.) But Joe Johnston was forced to begin the film by Universal without a finished script in his hands. The man did a commendable amount of damage control trying to put together a movie he wasn't sure would fit together. Through some careful filming and editing he pulled it off well enough for the film to be a fun little adventure.

It's the least epic of the four movies, granted, but that's because major corporations, live parks and massive teams weren't involved in the story. It's an extremely isolated incident that doesn't hurt or effect the other movies in any way.

I think considering all the problems with the film's production the film managed to be okay. And it's also the last of the franchise to use a heavy amount of animatronic work. Additionally, as someone who thinks the Raptor dream sequence is hilarious, I'm more than happy it's being spoofed on the forums.

This is coming from someone who saw the original movie in theaters in 1993. If the third movie is really that much of a stain on the franchise I think it would have found a way to make the surrounding films less enjoyable, ala, the Matrix sequels.

^Of course the opinion would've been different. Because he's a villain and an extremely unlikable character.

I agree Zara's death was a bit much. Her character did nothing to warrant that kind of end and it felt like beating a dead horse. It went on too long and while the resulting Mosasaurus chomp was visually thrilling it did very little to help anything about the movie and there's really no thematic or visual point to it.

It was already established that the Mosasaurus likes to leap out of the water for its prey, we didn't need another reminder to buy how it finished off the I-Rex.

Sara's death was brutal, yes. Now, if that was Hoskins, what would the opinion be?

Reply
Raptor-401Jurassic World ForumClearing Things Up *Spoilers

Well the thing is judging from the scene they just wanted to make a scene where you partly feel bad for her but at the same time find it spectacular in a brutal way.

And it's just a movie, not like the death scenes happened in real life, the movie is after all for entertainment.

And if the death was not as brutal, it wouldn't be as entertaining.

Reply
Dinozilla0439Jurassic World ForumClearing Things Up *Spoilers

@Raptor-401

It would be different if it was real life, that's one thing, but it's not. It's a movie.

If we wanted to play that game, we could say all the predators in the films COINCIDENTALLY managed not to kill any of the more main and important characters, the ones that were good people. The only reason none of them died was because the filmmakers were in control, therefore they chose to give Zara that particular brutal death when they could have given it to someone else.

And all of the other deaths in the film made more sense than that scene. That ONE particular death was dragged out and brutal, which was obviously the intention. It wasn't about the predator kills the prey who happened to be innocent, it was about, like you said, amusement.

And, being totally honest here, it could just be me. Personally, I find that I am over-sympathetic. I don't enjoy watching someone die under any circumstance, even if it's just a movie, which is a reason why I absolutely DETEST a lot of 'horror' films. However, in a lot of cases, such as Jurassic Park, I find that I'm really not bothered by the deaths in the film.

Now while I'll admit that the Dilophosaurus scene is pretty cool, it's mostly just because the Dilophosaurus looks spectacular. And at least it didn't SHOW Nedry's death, unlike Zara's.

But that's just me, I find that a lot of my opinions on this site are different than almost everyone else's.

Oh, well the point is you didn't see people on here complain about that scene. Seriously, why do people get so pissy and butthurt of a CGI scene in a Science FIction thriller meant to entertain people? Not to mention it wasn't that inacurate at the time the film came out.

But thanks for clarifying.

Raptor-401Jurassic World ForumClearing Things Up *Spoilers

And Zara's death was brutally awesome. TO be straightforward, I find it kind of ignorant when people say that some death scenes were too brutal for an innocent person.

Yeah, like predators are going to make sure to not be soo tough when killing their prey. A pack of lions aren't gonna be like "That elephant is nicer than the others, let's just kill him nicely, kay everyone? :)))))"

No, predators are just going to act how they act. Not also too mention it's not like this character played an important role in the film itself.

And I'm sure her death was meant more for amusement, because I do not know about you, it was brutal but awesome.

Same with Nedry's death.

Just my thought.

Apparently Zara's death scene was somehow recorded and is on YouTube... (Which it shouldn't be, by the way).

From what I see, most people agree with me. That death scene was more brutal than it needed to be for a rather innocent person.

Well, not to sound mean, but:

...Because it was not in the movie.

Why was it not in the movie? Well maybe they didn't think of it, or maybe they just wanted to focus on other dinosaurs instead, maybe they're saving those dinosaurs for the upcoming sequels, the point I don't think there is a definite answer for that.

That's fine, like I said, by forget I mean just not mention it since it was so dissapointing. And yeah, I actually did like 'that scene', I'll just admit it:

The only reason I don't like it it is because it was short. TO me it was still cool. And People may go BUT IT WAS BULLSHIT, well it's a Science Fiction movie. And funny how they don't get mad when King Kong killed 3 of them in the movie and how inacurate THAT was.

*Spoiler Alert*

If I'm being honest, I didn't care for Zara's death scene, simply because it was pretty brutal and I felt kinda bad for her. I think, if they were going to have someone die like that, it could have been someone else...

Not that anyone else really deserved that, but still... I dunno.

Reply
Dinozilla0439Jurassic Park ForumSo what now with Jurassic Park 3?

Sigh...

Anyway... My answers is... No.

I can't.

Growing up, I loved that movie. When I was, like, four, I didn't understand what made a movie good or not good. All I knew was I liked the dinosaurs, and that was good enough for me.

Plus, it was the first time I was introduced to the awesome spinosaurus aegypticus. And Rex fans won't like me for this, but I always thought 'that scene' was really cool.

Asking me to forget about that movie is like asking me to forget about one of the movies I grew up with and loved, which I cannot, and will not, do.

Nowadays I know the difference between the good and the bad in a movie, and I won't deny JP 3 had a lot of them. But I will never, ever pretend the movie doesn't exist.

(And side note, the dinosaurs in JP 3 WERE monsters, that was the point, so I don't mind that).

I do not know, after all Trevorrow said he wouldn't want to be bring back the original cast since it might make audiences freel a bit older seeing how old all the other actors are.

But I would find it interesting if they did make a cameo for Ian Malcolm and/or Alan Grant.

It occurs to me that the reason so many didn't particularly care for JP3 is due to Spino's winning the heavyweight title from T. Rex. Granted, it wasn't quite the coronation I had envisioned - ALAN! - but such things rarely are. As Spino's personal trainer and manager I'll take the belt any way I can get it so while it may have been a bumpy ride - ALAN! - I was satisfied with the end result. Still.., I wouldn't mind having that awful third round back to try and do it better. Regardless, Spino and I are open to a rematch. Just.., try to leave - ALAN! - at home?

Damien hexJurassic Park Games ForumIf there were to make a Jurassic World Operation Genesis. what dinosaurs should be in the game

Ok i will say this i love JPOG but yes there were not enough things to make me go "yippy i got a Jurassic park" the rides were hard to get set up, there was not enough Variety of attrations, so on so forth, i think if they made a JWOG they should allow people to go though jurassic Park, and then after it hits 5 star Unlock Lost World, IE: Site B make your own Site B, then when that gets to 5 stars be able to build Jurrassic World. Give the player a bit of insentive, But make more attrations and Allow a real feel for it, Also make Side Thing call "Visit Jurassic Park" and "Visit Jurassic World" Where you the player, go First person as a Visitor and are able to see the actual Park and expriance the Movies first hand. Go for a ride though Jurassic Park and nedry Pulls the power then try and survive to the command center with Grant and ellie helping you out. Excape on the copter, Out run the T-rex in a gas jeep. then go to Jurassic World, ride the Gyrosphere and see the Dinosaurs up close, uh oh the Experiment Excaped and is Heading toward the park, they shut the rides down, Eh who cares keep going, find the origional Visitors center, outrun the indominus Rex Hide and see the ACU get torn to shreds. Hop on a bike and ride besides the raptors as you hunt the dino down, they turned on you, Fight back, so on so forth... make the Game Let YOU experiance the movies... not just build your own, You are there in the origionals fighting to survive thinking quick, Duck dive and hide from the dinos on Jurassic Park, and jurassic World. Then see if you can build a park that you can make geneticly Engeinered Dinos and the park thrive... That is a jurassic park game i'd play for years to come

saurornithoidesJurassic World ForumJurassic World Sequel Discussion and Suggestions (NO SPOILERS)

Important Things to note in predicting a plot for the JW 2.

1. The park goers/visitors didnt really know all of the chaos they experienced was because of a single super predator the Indominus Rex, heck they dont even know there was an indominus rex, all they probably know is that there was a technical malfunction in the aviary that caused the flying reptiles to escape.

2. Probably, no visitor knew about the incident regarding the ACU, the raptors against ingen, the killing spree of the indominus, or the fight between the indominus and Rexy.

3. Its hard to see the park reopening, since many people were gravely injured and of course the top mind (Dr. Wu) is not there anymore.

4. The remaining cast didnt know that Wu was influenced by Vic Hoskins.
