Allosaurus and Spinosaurus are the only really large theropods that made use of their arms. Everyone thinks that the tyrannosaurs and abelisaurs were the only one's who had short arms. But Giga, Carchar, and their closest relatives had short arms too. You say that Giga is sort of the "combo" dinosaur, using his arms to his advantage. This just doesn't seem accurate. Think of all the documentaries you've seen of therapods like Giga, Carchar, Rex, and other larger therapods. When in combat, they very rarely use their arms. It's always the head, jaws, and feet. Spino is the only giant dino mentioned that I would attribute to making significant use of it's hands and arms in a fight, because, unlike the others, Spino would use them for hunting, grasping, and hooking prey on a regular basis.

Short, sweet, and to the point. I like the use of Yutyrannus. One of my favorite dinosaurs.

Of course it's 2 tons is strong, but compared to Tyrannosaurus' 9 tons, it's nothing. Sure, that's a car. But T-rex's is a pair of elephants. I break the 3 down like this... Spino is the specialized slasher Giga is the all-round fighter Rex is the powerful crusher That said, I would not want to run into any of these beasts in a dark alley, haha

Heck, if a T. rex or Spino attacked a Utahraptor, and a baby was in play, especially if T. rex ate the baby, moma Utahraptor is not going to back down from a fight with that T. rex, and will most likely severely wound or kill it.

Food or territory, 50-50. Probably more intimidation than actual fighting Offspring, whoever is defending their young, 100-0. The bond between a parent and their offspring is stronger than any weapon either dinosaur had. I showed that in my first fight, T-rex vs Spino

If it just over territory, 50-50 for sure. It wouldn't even be fatal most of the time though.

Right, the maternal instinct factor. Also the territorial aspect could come into play. But take all that away, 50-50.

That's pretty good. They are very evenly matched. I did a discussion on what could affect a Rex and Spino fight, it didn't get that far though. It wouldn't only be the environment though. For example, a lone bull Spino wanders into female T-Rex's territory and she has offspring to protect.

I respect your opinion. I'd say it's a solid 50-50, completely up to environmental pressures. It's like the unstoppable force vs. the immovable object.

What about the Allosaur that your sister found vs Oxalaia. nd Utahraptor was only 25- 30 feet long. If not, how about Something vs full size Amphicoelias.

Everyone has their own opinion on these topics, and mine is that Rex could beat Spino at least 55% of the time. I see what you mean with the brain cavities on them.

I know One person that did this was Star Killer. He didn't have that great a post in any of them, they were all in a row, and if you read them, I'm pretty sure you get the point that he hates T-Rex in the first post, but he had to post 6 times about his hatred.

I hate it when people do that. I understand if it's not their thing, but come on. Someone might show up, do an awesome post, and then leave, haha

@Mr Happy -- I'm not a believer in evolution, but I see where you're coming from. I do believe that animals adapt over time to their environments, prey and predators, and the like, and depending on this adaptive quality, Rex and Spino could both be highly intelligant creatures, at least, for large therapods. The brain cavities of both dinosaurs were relatively the same size, so that's what I'm going off of, but who knows?

Oh, and I also would like to see fight #3!

@x_paden_x -- This might seem like a wierd request, but could we keep these forums clean and language-free? I've been on forums where the language just gets nasty and it's not constructive. I know you're not saying anything offensive to anyone else, but still. @T-Rex-Spino -- 2 things: One, it's a start. Like Rex Fan, I would suggest you lengthen the fights. But good job! And two, not to be picky, but the pic you have of Triceratops is actually Zuniceratops, an earlier predecesser of Trike. You can tell by the more elongated snout and more lean, ovular frill.

Thanks. I figured, unlike the big theropods like Allosaurus and Tyrannosaurus who used size and power more, I wanted these medium-sized carnivores to use speed more than anything. Glad you liked it.

Whoa, this post was from a long time ago, but ok. Some of my views have changed since I made this post. Many of you have probably seen my weight estimates for Spino go up from 4-6 tons to 5-7 tons for example. Now, that said, I still think Tyrannosaurus would win about 60 percent of the time. Spino, about 40. Like MrHappy said, it would likely come down to something out of their own control.

What was funny was when in JP3, when Amanda is calling out for Eric the second or 3rd time and the husband says "dr. Grant says that s a bad idea". Then she says something like dr grant my butt. And then the husband says "fine, keep screaming and you get attacked by a tri-ci-cal-a-plots. (Cuz he dunno any dino names)

Interesting. Not a massive sauropod, but a special one nonetheless.

The thing about WWD Lio vs Meg is, remember, Meg has a cartilaginous skeleton and would be more agile. Plus smaller, slightly faster. Lio would be massive and strong, but not as fast or agile. I think the fight would be pretty awesome.
