Although you may think I like Spinosaurus, I don’t like the on I’m talking about in this poll. So... T. rex!

One of the problems I have with the JP3 spinosaurus, is that it wasn’t really cared about. It looked cool but it just seemed like they wanted to shock us into liking it. a they didn’t really try new things with it. It only server the purpose to be bigger and badder then rexy

JW: Camp Cretaceous is really trying hard to be scary. The design comes of as more humanoid than dinosaur.

Your last comment confuses me. Wait is the topic about who would win in a fight or who likes who more?

I like giant storks that eat ten foot long fish and have huge sails on their backs.

@squshaDash, I agree.

@Chris, Ok!

The purpose of this topic was to see how much of the fan base like Spino more than T. rex and how much of the fan base like T. rex more than Spino.

It depends on where the battle is taking place.

The image of Spinosaurus has changed a lot since 2001, now believed to be a stubby-legged, paddle-tailed fish eater that was more adapted to an aquatic lifestyle (although considering how much its image has changed over the years and the controversies surrounding these new finds, I'm not 100% sure how accurate it is). While Tyrannosaurus was more adapted to hunting on land, with a stronger bite force for dealing with larger and stronger prey.

If Tyrannosaurus fought Spinosaurus in a large body of water, the Spino would possibly win, if the the T. rex fought the Spino on dry land the Rex would probably win.

Spino wins for his claws and experience,only thing the Rex has is bite force but people over exxagerate it.

Remember, we still don't know for sure what dinosaurs looked like. Fossils of preserved skin on a Tyrannosaurus rex suggested that it was rather scaly. It’s possible that the giants didn’t need feathery thermal insulation, as their bodies were better able to retain heat, similar to modern elephants and rhinos.

Kamoebas V.6

So you became hated in the community for disagreeing with someone and calling them out on their actions? That really doesn't sell the idea of the community being "fine". If anything it just shows how toxic and awful it has become...

The first quote is from the opening to 1993 live action Super Mario Bros. movie.

This topic was only partially based on your topic (it wasn't meant to be a full response). It was mainly me venting the frustration towards the paleo community that I've had for the past 7 years. The topic of scientific accuracy in film has been a huge debate since 2014, and it's something that unfortunately has become way too heated. I've been obsessed with prehistoric life since I was very young, and it makes me upset to see the community surrounding this subject acting this hostile towards everything. As much as I love accurate dinosaurs, it's annoying to see these "paleo elitists" constantly whining over inaccuracies. My main point of this topic was that people get way too angry and dramatic over this subject and need to calm down. I mainly used the Jurassic series as an example because it's the one that gets targeted the most by the paleo community. I love Jurassic Park and I mostly like Jurassic World (Fallen Kingdom was kind of ehh in my opinion) so it makes me sad to see these movies become a punching bag for the paleo community.

Yeah, I don’t blame you. The way I became interested by reading scientific articles on them. So when I bought books about dinosaurs I would critique them on accuracy as well.

As for my Topic, my point wasn’t that hollywood isn’t accurate, it just seems to me, that they label things they call accuracy are not added for accuracy as I said, it’s something they use as a tool to shock people and draw more attention.

I just used Jurassic Park as an example because it had innacurracies, but I still really like the films.

Again, Feathers not used for scientific or logical reasons but to try to say something new, which is basically again trying to appeal to the masses

I have a lot to say about this subject (too much to fit in one comment) so I'll probably make a response topic.

As far as the "rainbow" feathered rex in Dinosaur Island (2014) goes, it's now considered inaccurate as there have been multiple fossilized skin impressions of later tyrannosaurs (mainly T. rex, Tarbosaurus, Albertosaurus, Daspletosaurus, and Gorgosaurus) that show that they were mostly, if not completely scaly (despite what some feather obsessed people in the paleo community try to claim).

Dinosaur Island 2014 to be précised. The 1994 Dinosaur Island is an Adult Film

Reply
KattozillaDinosaurs ForumPopular vs Scientifically Accuracy in Media

Dinosaur Island I assume you mean?

but yeah, that'd be nice to have a piece of media with feathered, more neutral-demeanored dinosaurs. i've been thinking about making something like that in the future...

I loved the way you capitalized the feelings as if they were things in the story. Really adds a certain depth to the story.
