It was really good. The T-rex hunting behavior was dead on in my opinion. Anyways, back to Life of Quint. Once again, pretty good.

Well there you go. I have Chased By Dinosaurs/Sea Monsters on DVD. Only saw bits and pieces of Prehistoric Park though. I want to watch that. Little off topic, haha

Chased by sea monsters can be found on Netflix under chased by dinosaurs album!

Glad to hear that. I will say, you may see some familiar faces, but very different circumstances. The battles will be dramatic, intense, and awesome. Granted, not even close to DinoFights, the king of dinosaur combat, but pretty good.

I like Orthocones. They were the world's first super-predator. As far as size goes that is. I mean 26-33 ft long! That's enormous for their time. I will say, you did make Leon very intelligent for such a primitive animal. As I always say though, every story needs a little "creative addition." Good job. Sometimes called Chased by Sea Monsters. Pretty cool.

Not quite as good, but ok. Hey, contrary to popular opinion, life in a primeval forest, is filled with endless days of boredom. Moments of terror, are only fleeting. That's a quote from When Dinosaurs Roamed America ;)

Guanlong had longer arms and large claws on three fingered hands. It's an undisputed tyrannosaur though. Dryptosaurus was a very primitive tyrannosaur, but a tyrannosaur nonetheless.

Rex Fan 684Dinosaurs ForumShould Acrocanthosaurus be considered an early Spinosaur?
I feel it could be a "middle ground." It had the head, body, and arms of an allosaurian/carcharodontosaur dinosaur, but the sail of a spinosaur. It's arms and claws were a little more robust like a spinosaur too. Allosaurian dinosaurs had long arms and claws, but Acro's were kind of like an in-between with the two groups. It was said that the spinosaurs descended from creatures like the megalosaurs. The megalosaurs were pretty similar to the allosaurian dinosaurs. I think it's possible. Acro started changing slightly with a new sail and stronger arms/claws, but retained the allosaurian head and teeth. It's not a fact, but it's a possibility.

Nice story. I completely forgot about orthocones until now

Makaveli7Dinosaurs ForumShould Acrocanthosaurus be considered an early Spinosaur?
I don't think it is. It has the body, arms, neck, skull and teeth of a carcharodontosaur. You could argue that it's a coincidence but what the really defining carachteristic is is the inner ear structure. That's what makes it a carcharodontosaur. Also, instead of having the sails that spinosaurs had, it most likely had a muscular ridge on its back. Unlike spinosaurs, it had places for ligaments to attach so the ridge theory is very probable. I don't think it was an early spinosaur just because it had enlongated vertebrae.

No, it shouldn't. It has slashing teeth, claws, and shorter arms. It had a fairly long snout, but it was also tall, spinosaurus have long thin and short. Acro was just not suited to be a spinosaur, and Spinosaurus was at the same time as Acrocanthosaurus.

Sorry that it is shorter than my Utahraptor story, I can't always have a fight scene. So I chose something else a bit exiting.

There wasn't a whole lot featured in this installment... It could have been longer, but the stage is set for interesting adventures now.

My memory of Jurassic Park 3 is sketchy. Like I said earlier, I haven't seen it in a while (might have to have a Jurassic Marathon with my friends this summer). I just don't have time to watch a movie once a week or even two weeks. I live on a farm and do a lot of work outside for my dad (I'm 14).

I personally think they are Allosaurs, they have a huge 8 inch claw on their hand, and that is not a trannosaur thing.

Great job, once again, tormented by an old foe. The only thing is that Orthocone is a squid, and squids regenerate, just like Leon did at the beginning of the story. What happened at the end though, was he stuck by lighting?

@Mr Happy - To me, an antagonist with a minor role in a movie IS useless. Believe me, I watch Jurassic Park III just about every week, and Spino's roles are far from minor. Like I said, Spino is not nearly as glorious as Rex, but I wouldn't say that Spino doesn't contribute to the movie.

WOW, this Orthocone has more battles than a Warship. Very intense and full of drama too, and the Eurypterids and the adult Orthocone were good antagonists. I'm excited to see the continuation and thanks for sharing your site.

Yes, you are right. Besides, with those long legs and claws looks like a member of the family Neovenatoridae. Curious creature, and probably a primitive tyrannosaurid.

Quint is an interesting character and certainly the lives of the herbivorous dinosaurs should be full of exciting adventures.

I didn't say that Spino was useless as an antagonist, I just said it was kind of minor. I might be wrong, I just haven't seen the movie in over a year (last time I trust my brother with one of my DVD's). I got it on Blu-Ray and plan on watching it soon.

Did some more research and found out the weight of Ekrixinatosaurus was actually 5.2-5.6 tons. Sorry for the exageration. :/

Alright, the voting cutoff is now. The Orthocone won and is the next main character for episode 2: Changing Tides. I'll have the next episode up soon. Tune in next time!
