You just said Asian, that's why I mentioned Europe.
Anyways, I still can't come up with another reason.

Asian and European friend :) They were connected at the time
ReplyRex Fan 684Dinosaurs ForumWere Dinosaurs Really Terrible LizardsAug 20, 2013
My Theory and Opinion
Dinosaurs are reptiles. While modern reptiles are not warm-blooded, the crocodilians have 4 chambered hearts, like a bird or mammal. Dinosaurs were probably warm-blooded and had 4 chambered hearts. This is how I break up the reptile family tree...
Reptiles-
"Basic" Reptiles-
Turtles/Tortoises
Lizards/Snakes(Mosasaurs were a kind of monitor lizard)
Archosaurs-
Crocodillians
Dinosaurs(birds)
Pterosaurs
Sea Reptiles
A very rough break down I will admit.
Most dinosaurs probably had a covering of primarily scales. The dinosaur mummy Leonardo, a Brachylophosaurus, proves this.

Leonardo
Small-Medium size theropods probably had a covering of feathers, the advanced ones that is, with scaly heads, feet, hands, etc.

Large theropods like Tyrannosaurus probably had feathers as juveniles and lost them when they reached sexual maturity.

With a few exceptions, like Yutyrannus.
Herbivores would have had mostly scales, with a few quill like feathers.

Because I classify dinosaurs and their contemporaries(sea reptiles, pterosaurs, and birds) as reptiles, they did not evolve into any mammal species. Mammals began to appear at the same time as dinosaurs, so it's basically impossible for dinosaurs to have evolved into mammals.

It's hard to say. It might work out, but then again, it might not. He was in TLW book after all.

I don't really think he'd fit in with the movie

I love the first book, the second was good but not as eventful, one scene I couldnt stop reading,it was when the power was off and the kids were in the nursery and the velociraptors ate a baby velociraptor in the nursery.
ReplyRex Fan 684Jurassic Park ForumWhich BOOK is better- Jurassic Park or the The Lost WorldAug 20, 2013
I like the first book better. The second was great, but it's hard to be the original.
I liked the part in the first book when the Tyrannosaurus breaks out. Although, the part in the second one when the Rex took a crap on the hood of their car was funny, haha
ReplyRex Fan 684Dinosaurs ForumThe Thermopolis specimenAug 20, 2013
Not sure. For one thing, Archeaopteryx is European. Anyways, it could be an extremely close cousin. Or like the dinosaur Torvosaurus. An American and European species.
That's the best I could come up with.
ReplyRex Fan 684Dinosaurs ForumAre Birds Reptiles?Aug 20, 2013
Well, birds are dinosaurs, and dinosaurs are reptiles. So, yes.
I was at a place called Reptile Land, a zoo featuring nothing but reptiles, and they had a pair of emus. I could not figure it out and then I read the info sign. It classified them as Dromaesaurids. A kind of dinosaur. It all became clear to me then.

Do remember though, That michael crichton was there on set and advised the whole (both) movie(S) He took parts out of his own *perfected* story just for the big screen....
(i agree if we had one completely true to the book it would be awesome...)
my favorite part, is when they return to the visitor center after the accident, and lex pokes the body of the dead gaurd... and the complete restarting the park thing...

I think the first dinosaur might have been a bit smaller than that, but it must have one of the first.
ReplyRex Fan 684Dinosaurs ForumDinotopiaAug 19, 2013
Yeah, not the greatest thing ever, but good enough. I mean, hey, dinosaurs are involved, haha
I've read Dinotopia: Lost and The Hand of Dinotopia so far.

ReplyEustreptospondylusDinosaurs ForumThe enormous mystery theropod of EuropeAug 19, 2013
Where did you read this? If this is true then it may be a new species altogether i couldn't imagine a torvosaurus getting past 11 meters. As you said it may be Das Monster but i have also read that das may have only been around 7-8 meters long but it's hard to say weather or not it's credible. it could be as rex fan said distorted or warped from time.
ReplyEustreptospondylusDinosaurs ForumNew First Dinosaur?Aug 19, 2013
It is probably the nearest ancestor to what could technically be called a dinosaur

^ Yeah:
1. A 50 ft T.rex would be almost 17 t. But I don't believe in a 50 ft T.rex.
2. I'm originally intentionated to include Oxalaia. But I exlclude Oxalaia before. But I forgot to remove the image.
3. Mapu is 5-8 t.

Yh the chase scene and the carnotaurus scene in the TLW were both epic !!!!!
Would love to see the carnos change colour, only prob being they would have had to of had reptillian DNA instead of frog
Replyt-rex90Dinosaurs ForumT-rex vs Gigantosaurus who would win?Aug 19, 2013
T-Rex: Binocular vision, most powerful bite out of all carnivorous dinosaurs, banana sized sharp teeth used for crushing bone, powerful bone structure used for taking hard hits, infectious bite, smart as a house cat.
Giganotosaurus: powerful bite strong enough to inflict damage but not nessacarilly immediate death, slightly slender bone structure, fast runner, razor sharp teeth, slightly larger than t-rex, not very smart, agile.
Giganotosaurus would put up a pretty good fight but in the end I think The King would win nonetheless.

The part from TLW with the Carnotaurus'.
ReplyjurassicparkourJurassic Park ForumJurassic park unused book scenes in JP4Aug 19, 2013
The scene with Ralph the baby trike. For scenes from TLW, I think they should really have the raptor chase scene on the motorcycle.

ReplyRex Fan 684Dinosaurs ForumTop 10 Most Massive Theropods - Update VersionAug 19, 2013
Not bad. Naturally I don't agree with the whole list, but all those dinosaurs certainly are among the heaviest.
Didn't you do some calculations and found out a 50 ft Tyrannosaurus would weigh nearly 17 tons?
Oh, and you don't have a weight for Mapusaurus and a random pitcture of Spinosaurus in there.
