wow, that's a lot of good dino books!
I have 5 dino books:
1,2- JP and TLW by Michael Crichton, obviously
3- one A4 book about dinos generally depicted, it has something like 500 pages;
4-one A5 book with dinos A to Z;
5-one thin A4 book, again, with dinos A to Z
.... and they're all in italian...

That is the book to get if you want a lot of dinosaurs. Its from 2001, but It is my favorite. It introduced me to Yangchuanosaurus, best thing ever.
ReplyRex Fan 684Dinosaurs ForumMy DrawingsOct 20, 2013
I've seen it before. Not recently though.
I'm pretty sure the author is the paleontologist on the WWD Movie site.
ReplyLord VaderDinosaurs ForumMy DrawingsOct 20, 2013
That would be interesting, and I would buy. Have you seen this book?

The one I have has a Spino on the cover.
ReplyRex Fan 684Dinosaurs ForumMy DrawingsOct 20, 2013
Nice. They're both pretty good.
I wanna get a new book though. One with some updates like new species, size estimates, etc. Maybe I'll write one, haha
ReplyLord VaderDinosaurs ForumMy DrawingsOct 20, 2013
I have both. Not sure where the encyclopedia one went, I'd probably be able it dig it out of a bookshelf or storage, but I have it. I can see the other one from where I'm sitting though.

Interesting. The book I have with this pic(well, with out the background) is called Dinosaurs: The Worlds Most Terrifying Creatures
This is it...

That's the one. I've seen an other one where there was a bird on it's head, and it said "if this is annoying, why don't you just reach up and slap me off?" Something like that anyway.
ReplyRex Fan 684Dinosaurs ForumMy DrawingsOct 20, 2013
Something like this perhaps?

I have a book with a picture similar to this and that's where I got my inspiration from. I looked at the pic for about a half hour, studying it as much as possible. Then, I put it away and started drawing. Took me almost 2 days, but I was happy with the results.
ReplyLord VaderDinosaurs ForumMy DrawingsOct 20, 2013
Nice. I feel like I've seen that before, not sure where, but I've seen it before.

ReplyRex Fan 684Jurassic World ForumJW: What We Know and What Is ComingOct 20, 2013
In the end, all we know is that there will be dinosaurs, it's on Nublar, and there's a couple of actors/actresses that'll probably be involved. Outside of that, we really don't know anything substantial.
Replyx_paden_xJurassic World ForumJW: What We Know and What Is ComingOct 20, 2013
that is a valid point rex fan but-- colin said he wanted to stay true to the films core meanings in the first film, The big reason everyone loves jurassic park (well most people) is because its believable- it could happen, through in the apocalypse scenario-- and you've just thrown a wrench into a jet engine.
Also how many apocalypse movies en up with sequels? maybe 1 or 2 (terminator doesn't count cause its kinda a mix of everything) and when they do have sequels their not highly good...
Dinosaurs is still left with a blank-- we don't truly know what colins got in mind ill give you troodon, but when we assumed it was troodon that was WAY BEFORE all that stuff with JP4 being cancelled then on hold and all that good stuff... so thats an unconfirmed but highly plausible...
ReplyRex Fan 684Jurassic World ForumJW: What We Know and What Is ComingOct 20, 2013
While an apocalypse is possible, it's unlikely. Technically, many of the actors/actresses listed are gonna be in the movie(90 percent chance of it I'd say).
As far as the dinosaurs go, T-rex and the Velociraptors are almost certainly gonna be in it. I would like to see Ceratosaurus in it a little bit, but I don't think it's the new dinosaur. Troodon is a better candidate or possibly Carnotaurus. Trike and Brachio are very likely though.
Replyx_paden_xJurassic World ForumJW: What We Know and What Is ComingOct 20, 2013
JW will not take on a "apocalypse" scenario, it would forfeit all chances for sequels (which we were promised) also said scenario would defeat the purpose of jurassic park/jurassic world, its going back to Nublar, not Sorena, if it was Sorena i'd grant maybe an outbreak HOWEVER Nublar is about 60% smaller then sorena, it wouldn't be able to supply enough dinosaurs for such an idea.
ALSO its troodon thats the next new dinosaur, AND no trailers been released yet... i'd also like to point out that that isnt the confirmed cast, most are in negotiations still...
my last point on this Discusion, this is more of an plot idea rather then an actual info...

But I don't think it'll be in Jurassic World. Nothing against Therizinosaurus, I just don't think it'll be in it.

ReplyDinoSteve93Dinosaurs ForumWhat's your favourite dinosaur?Oct 20, 2013

4-Balaur;
5-Torvosaurus
ReplyLord VaderJurassic World ForumTherizinosaurusOct 20, 2013
It would be interesting. Not sure how it could be used, maybe a few things. Wasn't it a herbivore?
ReplyLord VaderDinosaurs ForumWhat's your favourite dinosaur?Oct 20, 2013

1: T-Rex
2:Albertosaurus
3: Tarbosaurus
4:Utahraptor
5: Can't think of my #5 Fave, there are so many choices, probably a Raptor though.
ReplyRex Fan 684Dinosaurs ForumDinosaur Dream FightsOct 19, 2013
DinoFights, now we're seriously going to say Torvosaurus was bigger than Tyrannosaurus rex? If so many large theropods that we've known about for so long(Torvosaurus for example), why are they suddenly being considered bigger than T-rex? If they really were that big, then T-rex should never have been considered the biggest land predator in the first place. I can live with people saying Spinosaurus, Giganotosaurus, and/or Carcharodontosaurus were bigger, but when you say Torvosaurus, that just sends me off the deep end. I mean come on, the theropods showed an obvious trend of getting bigger as time went on. There's a reason why the largest theropods were from the Cretaceous and not the Jurassic.
ReplyDinoSteve93Jurassic World ForumJW: What We Know and What Is ComingOct 19, 2013
Hmmm... I don't think that's the plot actually. I think in JW will be showed a working functional park. Also, I think the new predator will be almost certainlly the Troodon. Other than that, we know it will probably show marin reptiles.
ReplyDeltadromeusDinosaurs ForumDinosaur Dream FightsOct 19, 2013
The Megalosaur's are buffed up Allosaurs with stronger bites, and Ekrixinatosaurus is an Abelisaur while Edmarka was a Megalosaur. Lets see, a 35 foot torvo would be at least 5 tons, at least. Since its heavier than Allosaurs (and probably Yangchuanosaurus) I'd say a 40 foot might be around oh, I don't know, 7 tons. It big, but still, a five foot difference rarely moves a ton.
ReplyDinoFightsDinosaurs ForumDinosaur Dream FightsOct 19, 2013
The first European Torvosaurus was 11 m (36 feet) but others, like the Portuguese specimen I was referring to, are 12-13 meters. Also, megalosaurs aren't skinny. A 11-13 m Torvosaurus wouldn't be 3-5 t, it would be 7-8.5 t. If Torvosaurus was as robust as the extremely closely related and possibly synonymous Edmarka, it would outweigh a 12 m Tyrannosaurus (8.2 t) at 13 m (8.4 t).
