Daspletosaurus vs. Albertosaurus

Daspletosaurus torosus

Length: 35 feet (10.5 metres)

Weight: 5 tons

Era: Late Cretaceous

Location: North America

They are often found hunting in pairs or family groups. The males are kicked out of their parent's territory once they are strong enough to fight for themselves and establish a new pack or defeat the previous alpha male, their father. The females stay in the same group their entire lifetime. These dinosaurs are close relatives of Tyrannosaurus rex and possess the same weapons. They have enormous jaws which can deliver a bone crushing bite, long and muscular legs which have one hell of a kick on them and last, but in this case also least, their arms. They have short arms, but they are still somewhat usable and very strong.

Albertosaurus sarcophagus

Length: 33 feet (10 metres)

Weight: 3 tons

Era: Late Cretaceous

Location: North America

(Don't bother to read if you remember it's description from my last fight)

These carnivores live in family groups of up to five members. They have a warm and fuzzy coat of feathers and are found mainly in the northern mountain range, where they live together with Cryolophosaurus and Yutyrannus. They aren't built as robust as their close cousins, but due to their light build and their unusually strong hindlimbs they are exceptional sprinters. They even rival some of the Ornithomimids on the island. Their arms on the other hand are very small and barely usable, but their ultimate weapons are their jaws. Like all Tyrannosaurids, they have a very impressive bite. Their average bite force is anywhere between 1 and 3 tons.

Fight!

The Albertosaurus roared loudly. Then she sank her head and dove into the carcass of the Deltadromeus. Then she heard another roar. She looked up from her meal and saw a huge male Daspletosaurus. It had watched the battle and was determined to kill her and get her territory. It took a single, very loud step towards her and roared in her face. She knew that she was at a disadvantage, but the Daspletosaurus was still young and probably not very experienced.

She grunted and bit his face. They swung each other around and then clashed to gether. The Daspletosaurus shoved her away with ease and started charging. She waited until the right moment and ducked. The Daspletosaurus was very confused, but not for long. At the right moment she jumped up and hit him mid-charge. The male stumbled backwards and grunted at her. She stomped the ground and roared at him, then she charged. The Daspletosaurus though that she was out of her mind to charge him with such a size difference, but she had a different plan.

She stopped in front of him and barely avoided a bite from him, then she leapt to the side of him and tried to push him down. He was too heavy for her and snapped his jaws at her. She jumped away again, but this time she charged into him at full speed. She closed the distance between them with a single stride and clashed into the Daspletosaurus. They got into a shoving match, but she managed to shove him to the ground with the momentum of her charge.

She walked towards him and clamped down on his chest. She didn't get a good grip and slipped to his arm. She bit down on it and crushed it completely. She jerked her head back and ripped it off entirely. The male roared and swung his head around like a mad man. He smashed it against her side, fractured three ribs and broke five into two or more pieces.

She fell to the ground screaming. The male stood up and so did she. They looked each other in the eyes. They they roared simultaneously and charged at each other at exactly the same time. The Albertosaurus was a bit faster and therefore had more momentum. For a moment she had the upper hand in the shoving match that started. She slammed her head into his side, but he didn't even react. He smashed his head against her's and then clamped down on her back.

He bit down with incredible force, but it wasn't enough to kill her. He threw her to the ground and walked towards her again. She was lying on her back and the Daspletosaurus came closer and closer, blood dripping from his teeth and a fire burning in his eyes.

He sat down on her and was ready to kill her with a bite to the neck. She closed her eyes and was ready to die, but her body wasn't ready yet. Out of a reflex she kicked the Daspletosaurus' chest and lifted him into the air for a few seconds. Her claws dug deep into his flesh and he roared out of pain and anger.

He took a few unsteady steps back and looked at her with murderous intent. As soon as she was back up he charged at her again. This time he headbutted her and she fell to the ground, too weak to fight back anymore. He stared at her with the same eyes as before. Eyes that could pierce through your soul and then burn it into nothing. He roared in her face and clamped own on it. He picked her up and tossed her against a nearby rock. Blood started pouring out of her head and she whimpered before closing her eyes.

The Daspletosaurus roared at the top of his lungs and left her body to be eaten by some scavengers.

Three days have passed since then. She opened her eyes and slowly stood up. She couldn't see right, but she knew that this wasn't her territory anymore. She looked at it one last time and then started wandering away.

Winner: Daspletosaurus torosus

Tyrannosaurus RexMember6270 XPApr-01-2014 5:50 AMGood fight, glad to see the Albertosaurus survive. I was hoping she would win though because, well, the six eggs in the nest.

I totally forgot about the eggs. I feel like a horrible human being right now. She has to be extremely sad. (If she would actually exist)

Lord Vader

Tyrannosaurus RexMember6270 XPApr-01-2014 7:04 AMIt's fine. What I do if I forget the profile I've given a dinosaur in round 1 is re read the fight it was in before starting to write the next fight it is in. You up for writing a bonus fight where the Albertosaurus attempts to win her nest back?

I don't want to spoil too much, but I already plan on a certain somebody to show up for the Daspletosaurus' next fight ;)

Good fight, I was rooting for Das.

Is it a case of hail to the king? Just a guess, but hey, just my guess, and I love saying that, has a nice ring.
