Ok, so as the title says this is just a threadctobposy dinosaur myths or inaccuices. I wil start.

microraptor was not black colored.

allosauris was the ancestor to t.rex.

megalosaurids are frail.

no other theropod even came close to t.rex in terms of biteforce and bulk.

ok now you guys start.

it's a pied reticulated python :D

 

they're definetly some of the neatest animals out there, especially the color paterns they've got these days

@MrHappy: Yes, I know.

@PK: That's because T.rex's bites are stronger. Theropods like Allosaurus didn't need a such strong bite force, because of their big gape. Tyrannosaurids' gape was relatively small if compared to Allosaurus', but it wasn't small as many people say - it's still pretty big.

@ Carnosaur, One referring to the musculature surrounding the neck connecting to the bridge of the spine as well, factoring in other components. I can see if I can find it at work tomorrrow and PM if you like.

 

Btw, love reticulated pythons. Do you own one. I worked with one at my work! (I work at both a zoo and a museum.)

sure, i'm sure i've read it just can't remember the name :P

 

i don't own one but i've worked with the mbefore, they're really intelligient and their natural color patterning is  almost jaw dropping

i think it's named the san francisco garter snake.

 

red tailed boas are my dream snake, they're beautful animals

Actually TK, i think it might be a san francisco garter. Closely related and both garters but I believe they are a bit different.

pretty ure -- the san francisco garter has the scientific name -  Thamnophis sirtalis tetrataenia,

while the california red-sided garter is - T. s. parietalis
