Carnosaur
MemberCompsognathusAug-01-2014 11:20 PMIsla masacre, off the coast of Nublar. 1400 hours.
As the jet coasted on the run way, Johtnathan Black toyed with his leather suitcase. Inside the suicase, lay twenty thousand dollars in cash. This, coupled with thecircumstances surrounding his being here, left John on edge. He, Along with half a dozen others, had received a phone call from Patel. He had offered them "a once in a lifetime oppurtunity; a chance to be financially set for life." No one could resist the temptations of money.
And so John sat, watching the other men get off the jet, when the attention demanding voice of Patel came from outside the door.
"Gentleman, it's great to see you! Follow this nice young lady, she will show you to our arena."
John got out of his seat, and walked to be greeted by Patel.
"Nice to see you again, Mr. Black"
"Likewise" he muttered.
John felt uneasy as he walked behind the group. He knew what they were about to partake in was somewhat sketchy, but the promise of cold hard cash kept his mind from fleeing back to the jet. He gripped his suitcase even tighter.
The "Arena" as Patel had called it was a wooden building, with glass automatic doors. The outside had been deceiving, for as John stepped into it, his breathe was taken away. Vaulted ceilings and marbled floors lay out in front of him. Directly to his left, was a corridor with a large grated steel door. A green and red sign with the words " authorized personel only" pronounced in bold black letters hung above the frame. The group stood outside the door tentavily as the woman slid her identification card under a sensor. A beep, followed by the hiss of the automatic doors revealed a small marble staircase, leading up to a second floor.
As the group made its way up the stairs, John saw a large enclosure of sorts. some forty feet across, and stretching sixty feet the other way, it no doubt housed the various reasons the group had come to this little atoll. A variety of foliage basically blocked the view of the ground, and the hum of the insects was somewhat unnerving. A boer got was chained to a pine tree in the immidiate center, not knowing its life was soon to end.
Patel strode out in front of the group.
"Now gentleman, we all know why we're here. There's no reason to beat around the bush. I assume you have your wagers, and you've received a pamphlet of your animals that you all have chosen."
They nodded solemnly.
"The animals have been treated with a special gas, one that we have found through trial and error to drive them into a frenzy. We have taken special precautions, you all are safe."
John heard the words, but could only focus on the enclosure. Thinking about the carnage that was soon to unfold before his eyes, he regretted ever partaking in this mans offer.
"...They are to be introduced one at a time, except for the first two. To make sure your wages aren't blown by unfair circumstances, we have assured the animals to be roughly the same sizes. I must say, this was one hell of an effort. The payoff shall be nice. Alright men, place your suitcases on the table"
He gestured to a small round table, with four oak chairs. The table was also marble, a fact John had kept track of for some perculiar reason. His mind was racing. He placed his suitcase on top of the others, taking the pamphlet from his suit pocket.
His animal of choice had been Dromaeosaurus Albertensis, a childhood favorite. He had always marveled at the raptors, and their prowess to kill and think. Having seen the other predators at Jurassic World, he wasn't so sure how well it would do. He eyed the black suitcase, then the enclosure, back to the suitcase.
The young blonde woman touched his shoulder.
"This way, sir. You and the others will have a birds eye view of the action."
"Fantastic" he said.
Patel was going on about the dinosaurs as john was guided towards the group.
"...We cherry picked these straight from Nublar! our field scientists tracked the healthiest, fully grown members of each species that they could find. Their efforts, as well as your monetary contributions, are all about to pay off!"
His eyes gleamed with a child like excitement. One could only think of the insanity a man would have to engineer and resurrect these things, let alone pit them in a fight to the death with each other.
"Mr. Adams, Mr. Gacy, your animals are the first to enter our little arena. The Spinosaur from there" he gestured towards a small grated door immidiately to their left. "and the Ceratosaur from over there" pointing to a door to the north.
"Stacy, open the doors"
A mechanical hiss was heard throughout the building, smoke billowed out from under the door as it opened.
The irritator, a male with a yellow dewlap was the first to emerge. It strode out confidently, eyes set on the goat. It broke out into a sprint, but it wasn't fast enough. The Ceratosaurus was on the goat in seconds, tearing the head clean off and pushing the body forcefully to the ground,
"Christ" said the tall blonde man, who was apparently named Adams. his face was turning a sickish yellow color.
John looked at him for a moment, before returning his eyes to the carnage. The Spinosaur, was quite angry. It wailed at the rival predator, the small ridge on its back turning a fiery red. The Ceratosaurus raised his bloody snout from the carcass and roared at the fish eater. He pounced forward, snapping his jaws around those of the irritator.
It shook free, slashing its claws against the horned lizards' muzzle. It then snapped its head back and forth rather forcefully, but the Ceratosaurus maintained its stance. It had somehow freed itself, and now was backing into the foliage.
"Wait...that's it?" said Adams.
"oh no, no." Patel said with a chuckle. "Stacy, door three"
another door opened across the enclosure, and outcame the Dromaeosaurus. John walked out in front of the group, directly next to patel to watch his creature.
"Fascinating aren't they? such forces of destruction, yet so beautiful"
John didn't bother to reply. He fastened his eyes on the raptor as it made its way towards the other two predators.
It had mad its way behind the Ceratosaurus, and now stood as still as a statue. The Ceratosaur was backing directly towards it, and by the way it lowered itself, John could tell it was about to pounce.
As the horned lizard got even closer, the Dromaeosaurus leapt onto its back. It began to claw and bite in a frenzied manner. It was opening gruesome wounds on the hapless animal, which began to shriek in a hellish manner. Other members of the group covered their ears, yet Johnathan just stood and stared. His grip on the small bordering fence had turned his knuckles white.
The Ceratosaurus slammed itself up against a tree, in an attempt to free itself from the searing agony the little predator was causing.
The spinosaur charged like a bat out of hell, fastening its conical teeth around the Ceratosaurus' neck. The force snapped the Horned Lizards neck, and it slumped lifelessly to the ground.
The Dromaeosaur wasted no time. Using the downed theropods carcass as a spring boar, it launched itself at the Spinosaur.
"Stacy, Door four."
This time, the mechanical hiss was not heard. Instead, the panicked whinny of the Spinosaur filled the building.
All eyes were locked on the two brawling creatuers. The Dromaeosaur had somehow gotten onto the Spinosaurs back, and was repeating its assault as it did on the Ceratosaurus.
Only this time, it was shook off with apparent ease.
The Irritator it seemed, was quite irritated.
It tried stamping the Dromaeosaurus to death, but the raptor was too agile. It retreated to the forest, leaving the Spinosaur to limp away from the scene.
The blonde women, who had a small name tag with the name "Tracy" scrawled out in italics came onto the platform.
"if you will gentleman, walk to the west side. You have a stunning view of our enclosure from there."
"Man, you know what? i'm done. My dino didn't even survive! where's the rooms we were promised at?" Gacy said. From the mans body language, John could tell he was pretty upset. He would be too, if he just lost twenty grand.
Tracy smiled and gestured back the way they came.
"They are located in the building next to this, our security team will take you there, they will be waiting for you by the doors."
"Great" he stomped away, leaving the four other men to view the massacre.
They got to the western side just in time to see the tyrannosaur, a species by the name of Teratophoneus circling the Eocarcharia. Apparently, it too had been unleashed into the arena.
"come on you worthless flesh eating monster, win me my money" said a short tan skinned man. No one had really talked on the jet, and John had not bothered to get to know any one. From what he gathered, this man had a temper.
The Carcharodontosaur lunged forward, biting down on only air as the tyrannosaur nimbly evaded the attack. It bit down on the shark toothed lizards back, shaking its head back and forth.
The Eocarcharia struggled, but the sickening sound of snapping bones showed it wasn't going any where. It lurched to the side in desperation, and both predators fell. They rolled down a small hill, the tyrannosaur loosing its grip and rolling off into the foliage. The Eocarcharia continued to tumble, lost in sight after a few moments.
Well, That was somethin' " said the tan skinned man.
Chuckling, Patel spouted "well yes, a little bloodshed is always nice i suppose. He glanced back out over the enclosure, and continued to speak.
"Would you folks like some refreshments? i know our staff has just brewed some fresh costa rican coffee. Top of the notch stuff!"
my god he's almost as eccentric as Hammond Thought John.
The group continued to view the arena, walking the catwalk. Coffee and orange juice was brought out, as well as toast with strawberry jam. Nobody really ate, but they took the Coffee. Other then that, no one really talked.
This made the eeryness of this place even more so.
As the group rounded the corner, The Dromaeosaur could be seen ripping out the Eocarcharias throat. It all happened so fast, the raptor had lunged, the Carcharodontosaur tried to turn, the killing claw ripping through the vunerable neck flesh, and then the Eocarcharia fell. all in a matter of seconds.
The raptor barely had time to get off of the corpse, when the Teratophoneus burst through the dense foliage, snapping up the little raptor and shaking it like it was nothing. The tyrannosaur through the Dromaeosaurus against a decaying tree stump, killing it on impact.
"Damn" thought John. And yet, he had no intention to retire to his cabin. He wanted to see more, as horrible as it sounded.
Another goat seemed to come from the floor in the center of the enclosure. The automatic feeder popped out a nubian goat this time, which began to immidiately run in terror. The Spinosaur came from the small lake, the goat leading it directly towards the Tyrannosaur.
"Oh how poetic, our final two competitors are natural rivals on our little island. This should be interesting" Patel stated enthusiastically.
The bleating of the goat caught the ear of the Teratophoneus. It turned towards the sound, only to see the irritator bite down around its hindquarters and brutally mutilate it.
The tyrannosaur shrieked, and began to slowly walk towards the spinosaur. All eyes were set on the two carnivores as they were set to clash.
The Spinosaur pounced over the carcass, its crocodilian jaws opened in a black maw. The agile little tyrannosaur lurched to the left as the Spinosaur passed by. The fish eater turned on a dime though, instantly slashing out at its rival. The Teratophoneus jerked back, narrowly avoiding the talon like claws. It then rushed forward, taking up one of the Spinosaurs arms in its jaws and shredding it.
The Irritator whinnied once more, frantically slashing at the monstrous murderer.
It had created some gnarly lacerations. Yet, it held with a bulldog like tenacity. When it finally did release its death grip, the Spinosaurs arm was a bloody unrecognizable mess.
The Tyrannosaur charged, sending the Irritator crashing to the ground. It was quick to get up, but the Teratophoneus was unrelenting. As the spinosaur tried to get away, the Tyrannosaur bit down on its back. The attack pulled the Irritator back to the ground, and the Tyrannosaur stepped forward, biting down on the back of the Spinosaurs neck. Once again, the Sickening crunch of bone was all to be heard through the arena.
The group watched on, no one speaking except for a collective gasp. Then, came two unexpected words.
"Shoot it"
A haze of gun fire rained down on the Tyrannosaur, striking it down before it even knew what was happening.
"gentleman" came the voice of Patel.
No one can know what we have done here, nor what you all have wittingly partaken in. Very hush hush, our little arena. No one outside who i've contacted knows about this little place - except for our staff. You will all be compensated for your compliance. You, mr. Petrelli" He said gesturing towards the tall bald headed man next to John.
"the money on the table, it's yours. I would like you all for participating, we will keep in touch"
Speechless, John followed the remainder of the group down the small marble staircase. A small security team waited by the automatic doors, along with the Blonde woman named Tracy. She beamed at the group as the approached.
"Thank you for visiting Isla Masacre, we hope to see you again soon!"

@HHP: Eocarcharia was a moderately built carcharodontosaur, not like its giant relatives...most in this fight were like that to even it out. As i wrote this out...the cards just weren't in its favor
