Their is, 3 females and 1 male in this pack, each female weighs 4.5 tons and male weighs 6 tons.
Tyrannosaurs
One, tyrannosaurs is female the other, is a male. The female weighs about 7.5 tons and the male weighs 9 tons.
This battle will be taking place on isla sornia.
FIGHT!!
The tyrannosaur pair is wandering through the thick forests, they Hear a loud cry, they follow the cry to investigate. They come into a clearing and are, shocked to see a gang of mapusarus taking down a small brachiosaurus. They watched them take the brachi down, they weren't sure if they should try to steal the kill or not.
They weren't even sure if they could, the mapus attacked with such a ferocity it was hard for the tyrannosaurs, to stomach, they just attacked and attached over, and over again. Before the pair can make their mind up, the alpha male turns around sees the rexs, he gives a low deep growl to signify they mean business, the pair of tyrannosaurs decided that the feast would be worth the risk.
The male rex, steps forward and roars a mighty roar. The mapus have had enough they form a circle around the pair and get ready for battle. The male Tyrannosaur didn't want his mate to get injuried, so he wanted to end this quick. The tyrannosaur male lunged for the alpha male but, he was out of the way in seconds, then he gave the word for his pack to attack.
Each female went to a different section of the male and started slashing and biting, the male rex roared in pain as one of the females pulled off his right arm, the female rex was furious to see her mate in such pain, she lunged for the mapusarus that took off the arm and picked her up, and tossed he into a nearby river.
The alpah male was pisssed now, he charged the female rex, she was sprised but she new that in a shoving match she would not lose. When the mapu hit the rex was sprised at the power of the attack and they were even for about 30 seconds but then the rex started to overcome the mapu. The female rex lunged for the Mapusaurs but he was to quick, the male rex was having the same problem with the 2 females they were just too fast.
The mapu pack was having problems with the rexs too they weren't sure how to bring them down. The alpah male decided they needed to foucus on one rex at a time, the alpha gave the order to attack the female rex. They charged in they went for the females soft under belly and her legs, the male tyrannosaur tried to grab one of the female mapus but she dodged the assault. The male tyrannosaur tried again but, still missed while this was going on the other 2 mapus were attacking the female rex, the male rex finally maneged to get a hold of one of the female mapus and threw her. The male tyrannosaur eent to go help his mate but when he got there she was already dead.
His eyes filled with fury he charged the remaing 2 Mapusaurs jaws wide open but they, were still too fast. They kept biting at his legs, while he kept lunging but, the mapus made a big mistake they both went for the same leg making it easier for the rex to get them, the rex turned around and grabed the last female Mapusaurs and snaped her neck.
But,while he was doing this the male mapu was still biting his leg and when he turned around to deal with him, his leg gave out he fell chest first. He broke sevral ribs, the rex tried to get but, with one arm and one leg missing it wasn't going to happen. The mapusaurus slowly walked to the back of the tyrannosaurs neck and ended the fight.
Winner... Mapusaurus
Numbers, speed and agility won this battle for the mapusarus.

MemberCompsognathusJul-10-2014 11:37 AMDon't agree with the winner. IMO Mapusaurus was too lightweight to even take on a Tyrannosaurus. Even 2 Tyrannosaurs vs 4 Mapusaurs, I believe the Tyrannosaurs would over power the 4 carcharodontosaurs. Oh well, as Rex Fan saud, "Your fight, not mine" Still a good fight though.

MemberCompsognathusJul-10-2014 11:48 AMPrimal king they didn't over power the rexs they used their speed to beat the rexs, and saying that one rex could beat 4 Carcharadontosaurs seems a bit ridiculous but your in titled to your opnion

MemberCompsognathusJul-10-2014 12:02 PMYes, I meant 2 of them. By overpower, I meant that I think 2 Tyrannosaurus' would overwhelm the Mapusaurs, no matter how much speedier they were. (Not much) If your 40 feet long, you're not gonna be THAT much more agile than an animal 50 ft long. It's just my opinion, but I just think even 2 Tyrannosaurs would overwhelm 4 Mapusaurs.

MemberCompsognathusJul-10-2014 3:56 PMWe'll first off I myself see rex as 40-44 feet long because animals such as ucmp are so fragmented its hard to consider seriously, and second off all mapu in my book is 30-35 feet long and 4-6 tons while rex is 40-44 feet long and 7-9.5 tons and mapus were less heavily built then rex making it easier to move around.
Primal you said a rex could over power 4 carchar not mapus
carchar 40-47 feet long 6-8.5 tons

MemberTyrannosaurus RexJul-10-2014 4:07 PMHHA, PK said that a pair of Rexes could overwhelm the 4 CarcharodontoSAURS, not 4 CarcharodontoSAURUS. Mapusaurus is a Carcharodontosaur, which is why PK refered to them as that. This has nothing to do with Carcharodontosaurus anyway.

MemberCompsognathusJul-10-2014 5:36 PMI'm not going to debate over size, though I have had access to certain specimens and holotypes that move up Tyrannosaurus' size quite a bit. Also, ^Exactly what Mr. Happy said. My point is, it wasn't THAT much more agile where it would be a game-changer and give Mapu a significant edge. If Tyrannosaurus could kill an animal only slightly more agile than it with one to two good bites, the odds are in Tyrannosaurus' favor. It was still a good fight though! Well written and lengthy. I just have a different opinion on the outcome is all. But, it's your fight.

MemberCompsognathusJul-10-2014 10:00 PMhold up, just hold up a second there. you say animals such as ucmp are so fragmented its hard to consider seriously.
The Fragmentary giant tyrannosaurs have had skeletals made for them by Scott Hartman, along with size estimates. Here's the ucmp you're going on about, and it's quite massive compared with 'sue' and 'stan'.
Some other large tyrannosaurus specimens.. one grid= one meter..
Photo Cred goes to Scott Hartman of course.
So tell me, how do you establish that size range for Carcharodontosaurus, and then utterly rule out the UCMP specimens? Just so you know, there are other giant fragmentary Tyrannosaurus specimens as well. RexFan has gone into detail on some, so if you want to know more ask him i guess.
you go on and say Carcharodontosaurus was 40-47 feet long 6-8.5 tons when the fossils we have of C. Saharicus are slim to none? Please, do not give me the excuse of "It's a scientifically established estimate" as i've seen estimates for this thing thrown around quite wildly.
The remains for C. Saharicus consisted of a partial skull, teeth, cervical and caudal vertebrae, a manus ungual, an ilium, a pubis, a femur( measuring 1.26 meters) and a fibula.
Scaling from that femur alone - and basing it off of Concavenator, Eocarcharia and the like- i have come up with the estimates of ~ 11.67 meters and 5.5 tons. This is rough, mind you and my math really isn't all that great. Note that i did not use the skull, as the lenght was vastly overexaggerated when this thing was first discovered.
I myself just did a detailed post on C. Iguidensis calling for it to be a new species, even if it is in the Carhcarodontosauridae it is in no way a C. Saharicus. Want more info? go to my profile. I'm feeling far too lazy to put a link..
FYI, there's no way a 30-35 foot mapusaurus weighed 5-6 tons. That's in the lower most bounds of Giganotosaurus and Tyrannosaurus, which it is much less heavily built then. A Mapusaurus in that length category would weigh ~3-4 tons at the most.

MemberCompsognathusJul-11-2014 6:59 AMHey Carnosaur, don't forget UCMP 118742. This guy is about the same size as Sue, but only 16 years old. Talk about a potential giant! I like how you pointed out everyone's ready to give an estimate for certain species based on fragmentary remains, but once you try it with T.rex, it's crazy.
Hiphopananomus
MemberCompsognathusJul-11-2014 7:38 AMIt's not tht its crazy, it's that for rex we have many other specimens all ranging from 7-9 tons and 37-42 feet long, so we can't just start averaging rex that high. We can put a max of that high but not an average, also the method that got those specimens above 10 tons hasn't been done on other dinosaurs.

MemberCompsognathusJul-11-2014 7:49 AMOr the reason it's only known from a few bones is because it was snuffed out by a rival and then his corpse was eaten.
Personally, I feel T.rex averaged about 12-13 meters long and 7-9 tons while it reached a max size of 14-15 meters long and 10+ tons.
Hiphopananomus
MemberCompsognathusJul-11-2014 8:04 AMAgree with most pf your estimates don't know if I agree with 15 metre. Or above 10 tons.
I myself see rex averaging at 7-8 tons and 39-44 feet long
and maxing at 9-10 tons and 45-47 feet longI personally don't think any theropod geting above 10 tons.

MemberCompsognathusJul-11-2014 8:40 AM@RexFan yeah man, it's always bothered me that we have always jumped the guns when it comes to giant theropod remains. People are always so quick to try to dethrone tyrannosaurus as the largest predatory dinosaur, and they do it off of very few bones. But it's absolutely not ok to scale up a few bones of potentially very large Tyrannosaurus individuals? logic.
Oh also about ucmp 118742, did you ever consider the reason that it died was because it was growing to fast for its bones to handle.
Erhm, no. I have yet to hear a case of this happening in any animal, let alone Tyrannosaurus.
It's not tht its crazy, it's that for rex we have many other specimens all ranging from 7-9 tons and 37-42 feet long, so we can't just start averaging rex that high.
Well, when we have a little over 40 or so specimens of Tyrannosaurus Rex i think it's safe to assume that we can guess a basic average for these theropods' length and weight. They do that with Allosaurus Fragilis, why is it not plausible with Tyrannosaurus? 37-42 feet long and 7 - 9 tons is right on the money imo.
Nature doesn't deceive us; it is we who deceive ourselves.

MemberCompsognathusNov-08-2014 3:07 AMFor the ones who say that mapu is too lightweight comparated to t.rex, count with the theory that mapusaurus might be a more fragmentary specimen of giganotosaurus.
What i've seen in planet dinosaur is that the paleontologists reconstructed mapusaurus by mixing the young, small ones with the old more fragmentary(almost as fragmentary as MuCpv-95) ones.and what's the problem with this?We have no idea how they changed during growing.I'd be curious how the combined reconstruction of the mapusaurus and giganotosaurus will look like.
