MemberAllosaurusJul-05-2014 1:57 PMThe helicoptor landed on the island of Isla Nublar. I exited the helicopter and walked over to the parking lot. In the parking lot, there was a few vehicles. Mr. Patel had selected a few people to write reports on the unseen beauty of his lost beasts. I was selected, and I chose what other than the Velociraptor pack!
I drove over to their paddock and parked my vehicle, which looked similar to a golf cart. I exited the cart and walked over to the exhibit. I had already visited Jurassic World a few years ago, but now I was on an assignment. After a few seconds of sitting, one of the rapotrs noticed me. It appeared to be a male because it was colorful. The males were orange with black stripes like a tiger, and the females were different shades of brown. The Velociraptor approached me. However, this creature appeared to be very curious, with no intest of killing me. The dinosaur came up to the plexiglass, and stared at me. I stared right back at it, and plached my hand on the plexiglass. The Velociraptor placed his snout on the plexiglass where my hand was. Soon, another raptor, a female, approached the male.
The male looked at the approaching female, and lightly bumped his snout on her snout. The female lightly cawed at the male, and then they both stared at me. The other four raptors stayed back. These two appreared to be the alpha male and female. However, soon, a cow was lowered into the exhibit.
I expected the creatures to run up and viciously tear the cow to shreads, but they just stood there. The alpha male snarled and nodded to two of the raptors. They ran into some of the paddock's bushes for a few seconds, and then ran at the cow, nipping it's flanks. As the cow ran, the alpha male lightly hissed at the other two raptors, and they ran up, blocking the cow's path. Then, the alpha male and female ran in and quickly ended the cow.
The alphas ate first, and the other raptors backed away, lowering their heads. After the alphas finished eating, the larger members ate. After that, the subadult raptor, the smallest and youngest, ate what was left. After the raptors finished eating, birds moved in and ate whatever was left of the carcass. These raptors appeared to be very sophisticated creatures, with organized hunts, a chain of who ate first, second, and last, and very little challenging the alpha. However, this did happen once, but in the battle not a single drop of blood was shed.
After the meal, the alpha male and female walked over to a large pond in the exhibit that the raptors used as a pool. They sat down in it, cooling off. the subadult raptor came into the pond, but stayed at least one meter away from the alpha female (presumably out of fear of the male, as he appeared to be very protective of his mate). It was then I realized it was getting hot, so I temporarily left the exhibit to buy a drink.
I drank and watched the animals all sit down in the pond, bt a couple were rolling around and splashing each other. The alphas just sat down next to each other and watched. These creatures enjoyed the company of their pack mates and cared for each other, like dolphins and elephants. This generation of Velociraptor nublarensis seemed much more sophisticated and organized than the previous generations. Then, I got up, walked over to my cart, and started it. The alpha male looked up at me, and cawed in my direction. I said goodbye and the Velociraptor lowered his head. I stood there and watched the alpha male and female nuzzle and lick each other as the other raptors slept near the water. I got in my cart and drove off, knowing I had found the unseen beauty of these lost beasts.
