CHAPTER 3: THE ADVENTURES OF TOM: THE TRIBE

Tom woke up to find 2 boys and a girl arguing. He realized that he was still in Dinosaur form. He was very confused right now.

Without thinking straight, he transformed back into a human.

Ralph noticed and widened his eyes…

Tom looked at all of them, as the three people looked at Tom with fear and disbelief.

“Wait a second… Just wait a god damn second!!! You guys attacked me!” Said Tom.

Raphael and the others stood still, not daring to utter a single word.

“ANSWER ME!!!” Said Tom, forgetting about the death of Levy and Derek.

“Yes… BUT we are going to free-“Said Raphael, before being interrupted.

“I am going to…”Said Tom, before transforming into dino-form and jumping at Raphael.

Raphael was scared. He had no clue on what to do. Was to he defend himself by attacking? Or could he call for help? No, calling for help would be bad. It would make him seem like a coward. If you were faced in things like this, you were supposed to fight to the death. If you didn’t fight back, you would be rejected as a coward. Maybe if he chose that it wouldn’t be so bad… He would just be on his own…

But he couldn’t do it… He shouldn’t do it… He wouldn’t do it…

“WE WEREN’T GOING TO KILL YOU I SWEAR!!!” Yelled Raphael.

Tom was standing over Raphael, his claws were ready… to… to kill…

“This isn’t me…” Thought Tom. “I’m not a killer… But I killed that man called Derek… and not to mention it was you fault that Levy is now dead.” The thought that Levy had just died re-occurred in his mind.

Levy… was he really dead???... Maybe he was alive… He was dead… There was gaping hole form his chest, he was dead still, no longer breathing… Blood was leaking immensely…. There was no chance at all that he was still alive… Still… Maybe… Just maybe...

But he wasn’t a killer. He knew inside that it was an accident that Derek was dead. Maybe it was the same thing with these three people who tried to kill him… He decided to turn back into a human, but still very cautious of what these people could do to him.

“Tell me exactly what you did and why, do NOT feed me any bull shit, or else I won’t hesitate to turn back into a beast and kill all of you!!!” Tom commanded.

Raphael looked at George and Kaylee. They backed away from Raphael and stood a bit behind him. They gave Raphael a facial expression urging him to be the one who told the strange boy what they were doing.

“Well, um sir…” Said Raphael.

“My name is Tom. Now hurry up and tell me everything.” Said Tom, quite calmly.

“We had to. I come from a tribe a couple of miles off here form this location. All of us are about to turn of age, to become officially adults. However, in order to complete the initiation of man and womanhood, one must hunt an intruder and kill him/her in front of the chief. Other options include, ugh… cutting off your privates, which I wasn’t going to do-”Said Raphael, before being interrupted by Tom.

“So you would rather have some supposed “intruder” be murdered instead of cutting off a body part. Why if you don’t provide me a damn good reason of why you chose to attack me I may just complete that process of initiation right here right now with my claw.” Said Tom in a much threatening way.

“Please please!!! Let me explain more… I was scared… I was getting worried… I just wanted to be included in on everything… I didn’t wanted to be kicked out, like an outsider…” Said Raphael, going on and on… But that statement made Tom think of his old creator, Thomas…

After all, Tom was named after Thomas… He remembered what Thomas had once said…

Tom was just 7 years old. He was sick. Thomas was taking care of him.

Tom looked at Thomas.

“Thomas, could you tell me another joke?” Asked Little Tom.

“Sorry, not now Tom, I’ve just got too much on my mind right now…” Said Thomas, looking at Tom.

Thomas was worried, he had something on his mind…

He knew something that Tom did not.

“How do I tell him?” Thought Thomas to himself, before being interrupted by Tom.

“What is on your mind?” asked Tom, quite curiously.

Thomas had to lie.

However, he did think of something that was on his mind before Tom was sick.

“I just feel sad of what happened years ago. After Levine died, I felt so alone. I still had Raptor-401 and Spike… But then soon enough they died of old age, too… I felt like an outcast… No one here wanted me… No one came to talk to me, I felt too much like an outcast… No one came to say hi, only every few years or so would someone come to check upon me but yet nobody would ever even talk to me… I was just an outsider… For a very long time… But now I have you guys.” Said Thomas.

Tom smiled.

“I will always be here for you, Thomas.” Said Tom.

Thomas managed to pull off a fake smile.

Why was it fake?

Because Tom had an incurable infection that would kill him when he would be around the age of 13.
