Jurassic World's Failure Part 1
It was several years since Jurassic World first opened. Hammond had died of natural causes and was buried on the island. Muldoon was left in charge of the island due to his experience with dinosaurs, and because Hammond trusted him.
Unfortunately for the park, there was an issue with the plexiglass, and after several years, it began to crack. It wasn't bulletproof, but it was thick. Terrance was the first to notice a crack in the plexiglass, and he bumped it to see what would happen. A small bit of it chipped off, and Terrance barely noticed it.
Several weeks later, Terrance was still chipping at it when the guests were sleeping. He didn't like to be watched doing anything, so he would do it at night so he could do it in peace. Terrance was almost all the way through, but only his head fit in the hole. He shook his head inside, and the wall started falling apart. He managed to get farther and farther through, and he escaped by morning.
He stepped out of the paddock and shook the bits of glass off his back. He decided to explore his surroundings, curious as to what lived at the park. He walked onto a maintenance road, and one of the crews doing an early morning safety check ran into him. Terrance looked down and saw the front end of the Jeep was destroyed, and the men managed to back away.
Terrance continued down the path and saw several other paddocks. He went into the area where herbivores roam freely after finding a way into the section on a steep hill that was used as a natural wall. He quickly got a kill and started eating.
Meanwhile, the maintenance crew had reported the escape, and a voice on the P.A. said that there was an escape and the park was going into lock down. Terrance didn't understand, but this was a moment Muldoon had been waiting for for a long time.
Muldoon was in his office, already grabbing the LAW rocket that he keeps in the closet. One of the employees asked what Muldoon was doing, and Muldoon replied, "I've wanted to stick a needle in him for a long time. Now I have the chance to, and I'm not turning it down." "You sure that's a good idea boss? Remember the little one that is constantly with it?" "What about her? She was going to outlive him anyway. Better she lose him now than in five or ten years." "I thought I could hold a grudge. Boss, I know he tried to eat you almost twenty years ago, but that was then. The guests love him." "Actually, the guests love the little one. The big one is just there because John wouldn't let me kill him." "I'm still not sure this is a good idea. Those two have been together a long time. The little one is almost full grown now." "Exactly. She is almost full grown, and the big one is a living fossil. I wonder how Wu screwed up and slowed her growth by that much anyway. That doesn't matter now." "Alright, only because you're the boss."
Terrance was picking at the carcass when a Jeep started driving towards him. Muldoon was in the passenger seat, and the same employee was driving. "Boss, you're over seventy years old. Are you sure it's a good idea for you to be firing a rocket launcher?" "I'll break my back firing this thing before I let someone else use one of my weapons." "You are one of the most stubborn people I know. I think you're crazy, but whatever you say."
Terrance saw Muldoon in the Jeep, and the man driving turned to give Muldoon the best possible shot. Muldoon didn't even take off his seatbelt before he took aim. He aimed at Terrance's head, but he couldn't keep the launcher still. Terrance was confused by what Muldoon was doing, but he didn't care. Muldoon got frustrated with the launcher and took off his seatbelt, stood up, and used the roll bar as a rest. He managed to hold it still enough and took the shot. Muldoon sat down and watched as the rocket flew inches from Terrance's head. Terrance whipped around and watched the rocket for a moment, and when he saw what it was and realized what Muldoon just tried, he roared.
The man put the Jeep in gear and drove as fast as he could away from Terrance, him and Muldoon yelling at each other the whole time. "I knew it was crazy! What were you thinking? Did you think you could play the role as hero and take out the Rex?" "I didn't think I would miss. I used to be able to hit a quarter at over a mile with a .50 cal, so two hundred yards with a rocket didn't seem like a problem!" "Well, it was, and you're lucky I gave us the two hundred yards, that thing would have killed us by now if I didn't!"
Terrance had given up the chase, and Muldoon and the employee continued arguing. "I'm lucky you gave us the two hundred yards? You do realize that I could have nailed him in the head if you hadn't been so worried about your well being and went fifty yards closer!" "So what if I was playing it safe?" "Playing it safe? Playing it safe would have been getting as close as possible before taking the shot, not making your elderly boss take a two hundred yard shot with any form of gun!"
