Prologue
The year is 1985. A genetics company known as InGen has purchased two islands. The first island, Isla Nublar, Site A, is the smaller of the two islands, and a theme park is going to open with genetically engineered attractions. There have been many attempts to clone a prehistoric animal. All have failed.
65 Million Years Later
It's midnight on Isla Nublar. Most of the workers have went to sleep. The rest are in the main meeting room, discussing what to do about all the failures. One scientist suggested trying bird DNA instead of frog DNA, and another suggested using different programming codes.
While scientists are arguing about what to do, an egg starts to move. A baby dinosaur is fighting to get out of his eggshell prison. When the young dinosaur finally broke free, he stepped out of the nest, and onto something cold. He jumped at the surprise, and stepped back into the nest. He took a closer look at the strange material, and saw it was shiny, and something else.
He saw a second dinosaur, and roared a challenge to it. He did not realize that it was simply his own reflection on the surface of the metal. There was something else he did not realize until after he roared, or rather, attempted to roar. The roar came out as a small squeak. Once again, the young dinosaur was surprised.
Before doing anything more, he looked at his surroundings. The first thing he saw was the egg. He walked to it, and started sniffing it. He recognized the smell, and realized it was an egg. He went back to the cold surface, and looked at his reflection. He watched its movement. He tried something to see what it was.
He raised his head, and the second dinosaur raised its head. He shook his head, and the other one shook its head. He tried to touch snouts with it and stopped last second, and so did the second figure. The young dinosaur now knew it wasn't a threat, and thought it was himself. He looked himself in the eye, and then looked at the rest of him, wondering what he looked like. He tried to roar again, but once again, only a squeak came out. He whimpered, wondering what was happening to him, and he had an itch on the bottom of his head. He reached up with his left arm and scratched it before going to lie down. When he did lie down, he quickly stood up. He went back to his reflection, and saw both his arms, in tact and useable.
He was about to go to sleep, when the creaking of a door got his attention. He crouched, ready to attack, still not realizing that he was a hatchling. A worker walked in and flipped on the lights, surprising the young dinosaur. The dinosaur hissed at the sudden brightness, and the man saw him. The man walked up to him with his partner, who had just walked in.
"Look, one of the eggs actually hatched. Looks like a baby T-Rex." "What makes you say that Louis?" "Its tiny arms and big head." "Ok." "Look at it, isn't it cute?" "Yeah, it is. Wish we could say that when it grows up." "You mean IF it grows up. This is the first dinosaur that actually hatched, we don't know anything on how to feed it." "You think it's hungry now?" "No, it just hatched, there should be some nourishment left from the yolk in her system to keep her happy for a few hours."
The second man picked up the young Tyrannosaurus, and was promptly bitten. The young dinosaur, Terrance, tasted blood as he was set down. The first man picked him up, and Terrance looked at his hand. He picked out a target of interest, the man's pinky finger, and bit the base of it. The man dropped Terrance, and Terrance ran through the open door while the men were distracted.
"I thought you said she wasn't hungry." "I've been wrong before jackass, now get the first aid, the bastard bit my finger off, it's bleeding like crazy."
Terrance walked around the building, and everything was huge to him. He found a dark corner, and started eating his prize.
