Carnotaurus Sastrei
Length: 26 feet (8 meters)
Weight: 3 tons
Era: Late Cretaceous
Location: South America
Carnotaurus are solitary ambush hunters half the time, but they are also often seen scavenging on the kills of larger theropods. Their arms are vestigial and serve no purpose at all. They have strong legs and can go pretty fast. Their bite isn't very strong, but they have thin and serrated teeth which can easily cut through skin and flesh, but their teeth also break out easily because they are so thin. They have very robust skulls and like to ram into their prey first and then take one or two bites. After that they wait for the prey item to bleed out.
Baryonyx Walkeri
Length: 35 feet (10.5 meters)
Weight: 2.5 tons
Era: Early Cretaceous
Location: Europe
Baryonyx spend most of their time standing by the river and catching fish, but they sometimes go out of their way and scavenge or hunt small herbivores on their own. They are very slender and light, but because of that they are also a bit faster than similarly sized theropods. They have long and thin jaws which are pretty weak but are great when gripping prey. So they are used when catching fish. Their thumb claws are very large and also very effective when gripping something, but they have a lot more devastating effects on other dinosaurs than their jaws.
Fight!
A Carnotaurus is sitting in a bush. The bull is right next to a river which leads through a trench in the forest. Standing in the river and only five meters away from the bull is a Baryonyx. The Baryonyx is concentrating at the river below him. Then a large fish swims by. The Baryonyx lunges forward in an attempt to catch the fish. The fish reacts quickly and slaps the Baryonyx's snout with his tail. The Baryonyx snarls and takes a few steps back, now he notices a wierd scent. The Carnotaurus knows that the Baryonyx noticed him and charges forward.
The Baryonyx is caught off guard and the Carnotaurus can easily overpower him. Then the Carnotaurus bites the Baryonyx's thigh and takes a few steps back. The Baryonyx releases a high-pitched scream at the Carnotaurus and looks at the wound on his leg. It's not a very large wound but it is still bleeding heavily.
The two theropods look each other in the eyes. Then the Carnotaurus charges at the Baryonyx again, but this time the Baryonyx is prepared for it and sidesteps out of the way. Then he follows through by biting the Carnotaurus' back. It doesn't hurt too much but the Carnotaurus can't free himself. The Baryonyx then slashes the Carnotaurus' side. The bull squeals and jumps around. He succeeds in freeing himself from the Baryonyx.
Then the Carnotaurus swings his head around while the Baryonyx is distracted. He lands a massive hit on the Baryonyx's skull and smashes it's lower jaw. The Baryonyx tries to squeal, but it sounds wierd and totally different from before. He tries to close his jaws but he can't because they hurt horribly. The Carnotaurus is still dazed from the impact and can't react to the Baryonyx which runs into his side.
The Carnotaurus falls over and the Baryonyx tries to slash his throat open. It can reach the neck and slashes it, but the Carnotaurus manages to keep it away with his strong legs before it could slash open any vital parts. Then the Carnotaurus pulls one leg back while the other one is still holding the Baryonyx back and kicks the Spinosaurs chest.
The Baryonyx releases that squeal-like noise again and backs away. He tries to lift his arm, but the Carnotaurus' kick heaved his right arm out of it's joint and broke many ribs and his shoulder blade. The Carnotaurus stands up and rams the Baryonyx.
The piscivore falls down and the Carnotaurus charges at him again in an attempt to smash the Baryonyx's entire skull. The Baryonyx panics and flails his arm around wildly. Fortunately for him, he manages to hit the Carnotaurus' eye and heaves it out of it's socket.
The Carnotaurus backs away, screaming the entire way. The Baryonyx regains his footing while the Carnotaurus shakes his head around to get rid of te blood which is pouring all over his face. Then the Baryonyx runs at the Carnotaurus one last time, ready to shred it's throat apart.
The Carnotaurus' eyes become wide and he charges at the Baryonyx out of instinct. A loud impact can be heard. Slowly the dust around the combatants settles down. The Carnotaurus is breathing heavily and looks at the ground. In front of him lies the Baryonyx. It's skull is smashed open and blood pours out of his head and with it small pieces of bone and brain. The Carnotaurus takes a very deep breath and roars loudly.
Winner: Carnotaurus Sastrei
Sorry for the delay. Everything should be back to normal soon.
