Finally! The tutorial we were all waiting for (well, at least three of us)!

Welcome to the 2nd lesson of my dinosaur drawing tutorial, featuring a generic theropod (I take it as a megalosaur). In today's lesson we will learn how to make large carnivores, from nose to tail.

So, let's start!

1. Squared belly

Start with a squary belly, as shown in the pic. Divide it in more sections, as this will help you later. NOTE: DO NOT engrave the pencil marks!

2. Neck and Femur... wide stuff!

Add the neck and femur as shown above.

3.It is a scapula, or the number six?

Draw that kind of "six" on the chest, it is dedicated to arms.

4. Limbs creation... from nothing.

Make the limbs as I did. For the arms, especially, think about human arms.

5. Those lines, are really fingers?!

Now make three lines, they will be fingers later.

6. What a foot? It is a duck's one?

Make the foot. There is only some "sausages" to drawn, and then a triangle, for the digits themselves.

7. Tail's tale: "I can't be so rigid!"

Now outshape the tail, basically just an elongated triangle. You don't need to do as I did. If you want, you can make it in another position. However, remember one thing: your dinosaur will be sad if you make a tail that is too stiff!

8. "A head? Hmmm... yes, I need one, thanks!"

Make the head, on top of the neck. If you followed my previous tutorials, you'll know how to make it ;).

So, that's what you should have so far:

9. "Look at me! I'm more and more beautiful!"

Now mark the shape of the dinosaur as shown above. NOTE: you don't have to folllow neccessarily the sketch lines. Althought you'll need to do it in most of the cases, there are some spots where you have to make a more curve line. EXAMPLE: the head.

10. Birdy eyes... wonderful!

Now, draw the eyes and the eyelids. That's what you should achieve by now: an almost finished drawing:

11. "Do I really need shading?"

For the final step, shade the theropod as I did.

Great job! The drawing's finished, finally!

So, now I hope this tutorial has been helpful. Tell me if you have any thoughts, or suggestions, and if you can, show me your results. I would be glad to help you more.

That being said, until next time!

Great tutorial, I haven't drawn it yet, but I'm about to. Also, where is it's other arms and legs, they look empty.

Also, an UPDATE here: the last pics finally works, so, enjoy them! ;)

Delta, I didn't really do them. They're supposed to be unseen, right behind the limbs.
