with all the discussions rex fan is posting about larger tyrannosaur size i thought there was one very big thing he missed........UCMP 118742!!!!!! for those of you who have not heard about this enormous trex skeleton well here are the facts (well let's call him junior;)) all we have of him is the dentary including the maxilla according to most calculations he would have totaled 13.2 m long not that big right.... wrong!!! what i forgot to tell you is that he is only 16 years old which means he still has 6 more years of growing. it is estimated that by 22 years of age he would have been 16.8 m long and by the age of 30 would have been 17.4 m long rivaling even spinosaurus in size!!!! so it appears that trex was actually MUCH larger than we thought!! and here is a list of the largest tyrannosaur specimens mor 008 mor 1126 mor 1152 UCMP 118742 here is pic of ucmp ok

Wow, that's huge! Anyway, I agree with that, and I see highly possible, if not sure, that this specimen could reach 16,17m in adulthood, as it had almost a half of his life ahead. Man, how heavy a 17m T-rex would be? Maybe 13-16tons? That would be huge!

I've known about UCMP 118742, I've just been nervous about using for support since it's estimated adult size is so massive. Needless to say, by age 30, I think UCMP 118742 would have been about 16 meters long(trying to be conservative) and would weigh between 12 and 15 tons. Glad you posted this Raptorexxx. My Original Upper Estimate For T-rex(drawn by DinoSteve)... Seems like it could have been even bigger.

Has anyone seen this video? it's petty informative(minus the stupid side stuff the guy does)and pretty much says what's being said here about UCMP 118742, However i don't necessarily agree with what he says about Giganotosaurus but that's beside the point.

Interesting video. I can say I agree with this guy on the majority of what he said.

UCMP is fragmentary, so we don't know if it was really that large. the largest confirmed Rexy is still 40.5 ft.
