this is the first of my dino battles to the death series hope you enjoy! battle 1: spinosaurus vs mapusaurus Mapusaurus [img]http://behance.vo.llnwd.net/profiles7/660938/projects/2252012/hd_d96931c0c3de1eb82ac8ba3e74b87742.jpg[/img] Length: 12.2-13.42 m ( 40-44.5 ft ) weight: 7-10.6 tons height: 4-5 m ( 13-15 ft ) time period: 101-98 mya habitat: south America weapons: hatchet like jaws, teeth, medium sized arms (useful in a fight) bite force: 5400- 7130 psi weakness: lightly built frame mapusaurus was a giant carnosaurian dinosaur from the early Late Cretaceous (Cenomanian stage) of what is now Argentina. It was similar in size to its close relative Giganotosaurus, with the largest known individuals estimated as over 12.2 metres (40 ft) in length ( although fragmentary remains point to a 13.1 m long animal ) and weighing approximately 6 metric tons (6.6 short tons). fossils of this animal have been found buried together leading scientists to believe that they hunted in family packs spinosaurus Africa weapons: 7ft arms with 1.8ft (50cm) claws, strong bite force, elongated skull bite force: 8800-9400 psi weakness: fragile sail THE FIGHT: It is the dry season, and a lone female mapusaurusus is feeding on a carcass of a juvenile alamosaurus, but the scent of a fresh kill immediately captures the attention of the largest carnivorous dinosaur ever to walk the planet, spinosaurus. he hasn't fed in days and is in grave need of food. he follows the scent until it leads him to the female mapusaurus, usually, a lone mapusaurus will flee from an adult spinosaurus, yet a kill like this in the dry season is worth dying for. the mapusaurus starts pushing blood towards its head turning it bright red, a sign that she is not backing off, the spinosaurus does the same but towards his sail. they start circling each other with mapusaurus making mock charges in hope of driving the predator away but it's no use, the more agile mapusaurus sprints towards the spinosaurus and tries to use his hatchet biting mechanism in order inflict deep damage to his opponent's torso, yet the spinosaurus is fast enough turn before a deep wound is inflicted, but as he is turning and the mapusaur jumping, he is able grab his neck with his elongated jaws, if he could just press a little more he could crush the mapusaur's skull. yet using her tail like a baseball bat the mapusaur is able to score a direct hit on the spinosaur's torso, the spinosaur roars in pain, opening it's jaws the mapusaur being wounded turns and tries to bite the spinosaur's throat, but the spinosaur then quickly slashes the mapusaur's face before any damage is done. the mapusaur, disorientated falls unconsciously to the floor thinking he is dead the spinosaur starts feeding on the alamosaurus carcass, 3 minutes later and he feels a horrible pain in his tail he turns to see what is happening he sees the bloodied mapusaur biting his tail, the spinosaur almost slashes the mapusaur again but the she lowers her head before the spino's claws reach her again. the spino then turns his neck swiftly under the mapusaur's neck and starts pushing her away, but her arms are now in striking range and quickly slashes the spino's eye out blinding him in one eye he leaves her and roar in pain before quickly looking at her madly with his one good eye. he dashes toward her, but the she is able to dodge the attack and using her devastating hatchet biting technique she inflicts deep wounds to his shoulder area and backs away before he can bite her, then they quickly rap their jaws around each other and start puching and shoving until they both disengage the lock breaking a lot of teeth. the mapusaurus sensing the spino's weakness dashes towards the spino's unprotected torso, yet before she could do anything they hear a terrifying roar, recognizing the iconic roar they start to look everywhere searching for the source, then out of the forest a huge female tyrannosaurus dashes towards the wounded mapusaur and rams to the ground breaking the mapusaur's left arm,now it's a three way stand of, it roars to the mapusaur and quickly lifts her head up and stares at the badly wounded spinosaur, she cautiously approaches the wounded giant, he tries to slash her but being badly wounded he can't swing his arm fast enough and she bites the spinosaur's arm with the force of 5000 psi breaking it like a twig. the spinosaur roars in pain, before quickly turning around and biting the tyrannosaur's neck yet before he can exert any pressure to the tyranno's neck she shakes her stockier body throwing him away, as he is being thrown away he gets bitten in the neck by the recovering mapusaur yet in a desperate effort to drive her away he kicks her using his giant leg claws. yet the tyrannosaur then realizes that leaving them to kill each other and then killing the wounded victor is the best thing to do so she disappears into the forest as quickly as she appeared. meanwhile the spinosaur then tries to use his massive body to ram her, turning his body under her, he then rises up swiftly, fracturing the more lightly built animal's ribs, disorientated she falls to the ground. the spino is not going to let her recover again and tries to bite her neck in a last effort to save her life she slashes him in the face before quickkly rising up and biting the spinosaur's sail yet the larger animal shakes her off and throws her away. the wounded mapusaurus then starts to cough up blood knowing she doesn't have much time left the spinosaur then dashes towards her and rams her to the forest floor yet she is not going to give up easily and she tries to rise up again but she can't the spinosaur knowing he has won approaches her and bites down on the struggling animal's neck with the force of 4000 psi snapping her neck like a toothpick. he leaves her neck to fall on the forest floor then roars in pride and starts to feed, 3 hours later and the female tyrannosaurus returns to feed on the carcass, being wounded having eaten his fill he is not willing to take such a risky chance and walks away, yet no meal is bound to save him from succumbing to his wounds. three weeks later and he dies from starvation and injuries proving that even this huge monstrosity is no different from any other dinosaur. [b]winner: Spinosaurus[/b] [img]http://fc05.deviantart.net/fs46/f/2009/204/8/0/Raging_Spinosaurus_by_KaijuSamurai.jpg[/img] even though he was wounded and bloodied and on the losing side the tyrannosaurus in a way saved his life for a time. he was heavier than his lighlty built opponent which also may have been a major factor in the dinosaur battle... to the death!
