DinoFights has asked me to help him out with a few of his fights. So, I took on three of the bonus fights for him. Here's the first one. Enjoy... Ceratosaurus vs Utahraptor (Sizes based on my estimates) Ceratosaurus-Horned Lizard Nickname- 3 Horned Terror Size- 20-25 ft long, 9-11 ft tall, and 1-2 tons Speed- 20-25 miles per hour Weapons- Massive teeth over 6 inches long, clawed hands, back armor, agility, and speed Primary Weakness- Somewhat primitive brain Extra Details- Ceratosaurus was a large predator from the Late Jurassic. It would have had a lot of competition from other large carnivores, the most notable being Allosaurus. Because of this, Ceratosaurus would have had to be tough and would be a vicious fighter. Utahraptor- Thief of Utah Nickname- Super Raptor Size- 16-20 ft long, 6-7 ft tall, and 800-1,200 lbs Speed- 20-30 miles per hour Weapons- Sharp teeth, clawed hands, large sickle claw over 1 ft long, intelligence, speed, and agility Primary Weakness- Somewhat lightweight build and fragile bones Extra Details- Utahraptor is the largest raptor found so far. It may have competed with Acrocanthosaurus for food. Like other raptors, it would have been smart. However, it was a more primitive raptor, and may not have been quite as smart as later raptors like Deinonychus or Velociraptor. Utahraptor would have been a fearsome opponent for any dinosaur. Fight- A male Ceratosaurus is patrolling the borders of his territory. The area is at the southern end of Isla Sorna. He had recently taken this area from a young Deltadromeus. It’s a good territory, full of prey and water, and he plans to hold onto it for as long as he can. As he nears the end of his patrol, he catches the scent of something. Another predator has entered his turf. He follows the trail deep into his territory. It ends at a small pond. Drinking from that pond is a single Utahraptor. The Ceratosaurus has seen these dinosaurs before and even fought one once. But it was a juvenile, while this one is a fully grown adult, topping 19 feet. The Ceratosaurus prepares to attack. He’s not too smart and the plan he comes up with is crude, but effective. He hides in the bushes and prepares to charge. The Utahraptor senses something behind him and turns to see what’s coming. As he turns, the Ceratosaurus slams into him like a runaway freight train. The Utahraptor is sent flying and lands in the pond over 15 yards away. He get’s up with a few broken bones and bruises. The raptor ruffles his head feathers and hisses at the Ceratosaurus. The Ceratosaurus, used to fighting carnivores twice the size of the raptor, sees through the ruse and roars loudly. The raptor sprints at the Ceratosaurus and at the last second side-steps. The Utahraptor lashes out with his hand claws and slashes the Ceratosaurus’ flank with them. The larger Ceratosaurus turns to face his rival, his side bleeding. Before the raptor has time to focus again, the Ceratosaurus attacks. He uses his superior size and shoves the raptor to the ground. The Utahraptor kicks out with his legs and catches the Ceratosaurus in the lower jaw with one if his toe claws. The Ceratosaurus stumbles back a few steps as the raptor gets up. The Utahraptor leaps at the Ceratosaurus. The Ceratosaurus is ready though. He swings his large head and hits the raptor with it. He involuntarily sends his nose horn into the side of the raptor. His horn breaks off. The raptor gets up and looks at his flank, blood streaming from the injury, the horn still stuck in his flesh. The raptor snarls at the Ceratosaurus. The raptor charges the Ceratosaurus head on. The Ceratosaurus turns quickly and smacks the Utahraptor across the face with his tail, breaking a few of the raptors teeth. The Utahraptor stumbles back, but does not give too much ground. The raptor recovers quickly and lunges again. The Ceratosaurus did not expect the raptor to recover so fast and is not prepared. The raptor lands on the back of the Ceratosaurus and holds on with his hand claws. He tries to bite the back of the neck, but the Ceratosaurus’ armor keeps him from doing so. So instead, the smarter Utahraptor rakes his toe claws down the flank of the Ceratosaurus. Some of the cuts are over 3 feet long! The Ceratosaurus bucks and roars in pain, his sides bleeding heavily. The Utahraptor holds on though. As the Ceratosaurus stumbles around, he trips over a nearby log. This fall may have saved his life, being that he fell on his back. The raptor is crushed under the 2 ton Ceratosaurus. As the Ceratosaurus gets up, he looks down to see the raptor still breathing. He bites the stomach of the Utahraptor and, using his massive teeth, slashes the raptor open. The Utahraptor hisses in pain as his intestines and life blood pour out onto the ground. The Ceratosaurus lifts his blood covered snout and roars in victory, having taken back his territory. Winner- Ceratosaurus While not as smart as the Utahraptor, the Ceratosaurus was stronger and could take more punishment. The raptor had a lighter frame and could be injured more easily. In the ultimate contest between brain vs brawn, brawn won big.

Good fight. I was rooting for Utahraptor though. Oh well, you win some, you lose some.

Great fight, but I don't think you gave the Utahraptor is due. I think it would have been a lot more responsive and catious. It may be a primitive raptor, but its at least as smart as T. rex.

Remember, the Ceratosaurus basically won because he tripped over a log and fell on the Utahraptor. It could easily have gone the other way. The Ceratosaurus simply came out on top this time.

I'd say Utahraptor was smarter than Rex by a good bit. Most of T. Rex's brain was devoted to smell. Without that, it's brain is comparable to an alligator's. I put Utahraptor at about possum because it had a pretty big brain.
