According to director Colin Trevorrow, the plot for Jurassic World will take place 22 years after the events of the first Jurassic Park! Check out Trevorrow's tweet below, which confirmed this:
@pfcbains916 Reboot is a strong word. This is a new sci-fi terror adventure set 22 years after the horrific events of Jurassic Park.

Hey Guest, want to add your say?

As long as there's no city/civilization rampage scene, I'll be happy.

I've updated the OP with the most recent Jurassic World plot update which was recently revealed by Colin Trevorrow! Check it out!

Wow, this topic is still kicking, that's pretty good. I've written a few plot ideas and posted, so i won't get into any ideas.
I personally enjoyed the Rex rampage in the city scene.

Yeah, I know some people enjoyed it, but it killed the movie for me. It seemed completely in defiance of the series's tone and theme. Part of what made the islands so terrorizing is that there was no contact with the outside world. Only you, the thick jungles, and the monsterous creatures. The San Francisco scene just felt Godzilla-y, I thought at any moment the air-force would attack it. It was silly and completely unfitting to me, but that's just my two cents.

It was still an interesting idea Warden of Wisdom.
Indiana Jones, a fight netween Rexy and the JP 3 Spino would be so one sided. Rexy would kill him before the thirty second mark.

i think they are going to use the unused part of the novels to the script. remember the title jurassik WORLD meaning some dinosaurs have escaped and are in the continent like in the first book and the findings in the beach in the second novel.

What if, a new company takes off from where InGen left off, and they make a theme park chain around the world. (Like, one or two on each major continent.) It's been around for 7 years when the movie starts. And then through complications, everything goes awry. It is like JP 1, but on a much larger scale. "Life finds a way." So, all the theme parks (Jurassic World) malfunction and lose control. Then, the dinosaurs all get out, and they're spreading. Our world would literally become, a Jurassic World. (It's a play-on-words.) Most of you are thinking, "But, the government would just bomb the areas the dinos are in." But it's not that easy. It turns out that every dinosaur species has already gotten out along those seven years Jurassic World has been around. There would be old favorites: Tyrannosaurus, Velociraptor, Spinosaurus, Dilophosaurus, Pteranodon, etc... But there would be new dinosaurs: Troodon (like from the telltale game) Carnotaurus (Like from The Lost World novel), some new Pterosaurs, some big, some small, but ever tenacious and vicious. And of course, marine reptiles. Mosasaur, Muraenosaurus, Lieupleurodon, Kronosaurus, etc... They've already spread across countries and oceans. So the governments couldn't bomb them without bombing nearly everywhere, including their own people. Therefore, it would have setting of a multitude of places. Cities, towns, jungles, deserts, oceans, forests, and more. Think of the possibilities. Life will push boudaries to get what it wants. As Ian Malcolm once so eliquently put it: "Life finds a way."

jurassic world? hmmm. maybe meaming jurassic park and the lost world together as in nublar and sorna both the settings of the movie. a collection of islands possibly? just a thought.
hope they focus on dino disease idea rather than a cop out new park plot. kind of makes sense to go in that direction if you ask me. needs to have things not knowing in previous entries....secrets etc.
think the disease idea would be a good way of bringing back BD Wongs character Dr Henry Wu and ian malcohm but i think jeff goldblum wont be returning though :(
maybe they are part of a team sent in to study them and find the cause of the disease along with former ingen imployees sent by the government only to find all sorts of secrets and cover ups lol. just thinking out loud here

Here's an idea: 2 things: Dinosaurs are captured by environmentalists who try to save the dinosaurs and release them into forests and jungles all over the world, very early on after the discovery of Site B. Dinosaurs are spotted all around the world and their numbers have grown exceptionally, especially raptors.
Meanwhile, the pteranodons spread a germ to the birds and they migrate all over the world, and most mammals are affected. They become really dumb and most of humanity cannot function and are slowly dying off out of sheer inability to think. Now carnivorous dinosaurs are all over the place.
Dr. Wu's wife finds a note of desperation from her deceaced husband, one he told her she would find in his personal journals. She reads it and finds notes about the illness that he bred out, and realizes the germ has found its way back. The only cure was left underground on Isla Nublar, where a team of experts must venture in order to find it. The team is secretive, only a few trusted researchers chosen by Wu's wife, so as the germ and its cure never fall into the wrong hands.

I would like to see them turn Tyrannosaurus Rex into a pack hunter of 3-4 Rexs. But if they cant do that bring in a pack of Utha Raptors to fight T-rex. I would like to see them take where Isla Nublar got bigger say like it became a new contenet full of dinosaurs from different time zones from Triassic, Jurassic, and to Cretaceous with new people and i do like the idea for a navy seal team being involded.
If I could be anything I would be a Trex.

Had a thought about a possible plot hook. What do you think?
the park is up and running on nub lair, has been for a few years and receives thousands of tourists every year. Throughout this period, a small but ever growiant group opposed to the nature of the island manage to enter the islanas disguised as tourists. Whilst there they seize the main control room, turn the power off all over the park and alert visitors over the tan not that their lives are now in their own hands. The groups message is for the island to be closed.
This woopen allow for a new take on how the dinosaurs manage to get free and open up potential ethical questions prevalent in the first film.
Let me know wht you think

I rather like it. I think we're all a bit fed up of the same rehashed story that was up 3. It could demonstrate the park in operation for some duration, including all the stuff about underwater dinosaur in lagoons etc. then the group opposed to the park seize control. I'm not talking about die hard with guns. They could be serious dinosaur or cloning opposers that switch off the fences allowing the dinosaur to roam free, and cause hell. I think this could present opportunities for debate about ethics somewhere in it, along the lines of the meeting room scene in the first film.
