Universal Studios filed a trademark mid-last month (April 14th 2020) for a new game title - Jurassic World Aftermath! Information beyond the title registered and associated domain name is relatively unknown, however the trademark filing gives us a a range of applications Universal plan to use with the title:
The description provided to the USPTO for JURASSIC WORLD AFTERMATH is Recorded interactive multi-media software for playing games; downloadable interactive multi-media software for playing games; downloadable software in the nature of a mobile application for playing games and accessing entertainment content for use with computers, portable handheld digital electronic communication devices, mobile devices, wired and wireless communication devices, and video game consoles; recorded computer game software for wireless and electronic mobile devices, mobile phones, hand-held electronic devices, and video game consoles; downloadable computer game software for wireless and electronic mobile devices, mobile phones, hand-held electronic devices, and video game consoles; computer game discs; video game discs; wireless communication devices and wireless communication systems comprised of computer hardware and recorded software for the transmission of audio, voice, and images; recorded computer virtual reality game software; downloadable virtual reality game software.
Our friends at Jurassic Outpost speculate that Jurassic World: Aftermath could be a third-person, open world survival game set on Isla Nublar, essentially picking up where the cancelled Jurassic World Survivor game left off.
Given that Jurassic World: The Game and Jurassic World Evolution both have the mobile and console based simulator genre locked down for the Jurassic property, it is to be expected that Jurassic World Aftermath would take a different route and what better way than to exploit a survivor based gameplay set on a Dinosaur infested island!
The title Aftermath also insinuates a post-apocalyptic scenario. With Jurassic World Dominion seeing the invasion of Dinosaurs on the mainland, perhaps this game will coincide with the third film's plot and pit players against Dinosaurs in their own neighborhoods.
