Yeah, gigan i really don't know why you didn't move this to JW forums. :/
What the heck is going on here?
This is becoming a Jurassic world thread.
Wait... its named after Godzilla, and you forgot the name? :/
Just kidding, I know what you ment. :) The full name is Gojirasaurus quayi!

there actually is a dinosaur named after godzilla forgot the name though
Not entirely a fair fight until we know how D-rex looks.
Also, Giganotosaurus Carolinii wasn't the largest, but one of the largest.
The holotype was "sue" sized - sue beig the 'largest' tyrannosaurus.
A second individual though, rather incomplete, is estimated to be ~8% larger then the holotype, thus ~8% larger then Sue.
Tyrannosaurus Rex, Mapusaurus Roseae, Edmarka rex, Carcharodontosaurus Saharicus, and of course Giganotosaurus are all viable contenders for largest theropod dinosaur, each within the top 5.
This version of spino, the one we've had since the early 2000's...it's wrong. JP/// got it wrong, Jack Horner got it wrong, mainstream paleontology got it wrong..
Why, you may be asking?
We had nothing really of this thing, for almost a hundred years..
Y'all know the first remains were destroyed in WW2, that bombing and all that good stuff.

Every one has seen this picture...it's what Stromer unearthed in the early 1900's. What he unearthed, was a monster..
Spinosaurus Aegyptiacus (Spine lizard from egypt)
From this, and that rumored 8 foot skull in 'private collection', they got the 60foot, 18 ton monster we all love(or hate) and know.

Planet dinosaur highlighted this thing; here it is in the hypothetical reconstruction they used..
But, recent discoveries have shown us this animal was very different from this..4
A more accurate reconstruction..
S. Aegyptiacus was semi aquatic in nature, as said by mr. happy up there ^. It was also semi- quadrupedal, though not incapable of a bipedal gait.
Spinosaurus has a size reduction coming along with these new materials..A median estimate of ~14.8 meters and 6 tons is what this animal is shaping up to be. The top ten largest theropods is going to have to be revised for sure, but Spinosaurus is still up there as one of the largest.
Why people bring other theropods in this discussion? This isn't a "t.rex beat every other theropod" thread. We have no idea how these creatures behaved, but most people say that t.rex beat all of them, and this is annoying.STOP THIS!
Back on topic,i found this updated reconstruction,i think it looking better now.

@ UCMP spinosaurs has the stronger arms because it uses them in combat much more often and the claws are thicker and more curved, wich means it was stronger IMO. I would post pics of them but they don't work:/
yeah i say its ol' spinny winning this one
Deinocheirus has stronger arms than Spinosaurus, not the other way around.
If Godzilla were to be designed with a more Spinosaurus-like appearance, he'd look like this:

Agreed.this is like spinosaurus vs a spinosaurus that has a much smaller head, longer neck and thinner arms. Almost a mismatch in favor the dpinosaurus.
It's pretty good, but since the D.rex and the worker are of the same color it's kinda confusing, nevertheless it's still very good. I especially like how much detail you put into the car.
Yeah, I'll have to go 90-10 in favor of Spinosaurus. They had similarly sized arms, Spinosaurus had a far stronger jaw, weighed a lot more and, unlike the Deinocheirus, had experience with hunting and killing.
Sorry for small image... looks better in person.
thanks guys, and yes itll be goofy.
Yes he is. I think that spinosaur would win the majority because it has a more powerful, more useful jaws also it is a predator and actually knows how to fight and knows how to hunt. And their arms will do similar damage but the spino's would be worse cause thee claws are thicker and more evolved for slashing and gripping. so I see this as being a slap fight in Wich spino would win though it would have some slashes. I can't see the deino winning since that small fragile skull will be highly vulnerable and the long, thin neck will be easy to mangle and destroy.75-25 in favor of spino.
Spino was the longest theropod at about 50 feet long versus Giga's 45 or so feet. People seem to assume that because it was longer than any other theropod, it was also heavier. Not really the case. Being semi-aquatic, Spino didn't need to be super heavy. As far as weight goes, it's really a tie between several predators, mainly Giganotosaurus, Carcharodontosaurus, and Tyrannosaurus Rex that rival Spinosaurus in weight.
Now then, take what I say however you like, ther will likely be a few people who attempt to correct me, so let them say their piece, and decide how big you think Spino is using the information provided.
Nice job. It was a heck of a fight.
For some reason, this sounds like it's going to be funny. Looking forward to it.
I have finished drawing Megarex, will upload soon...
Based an all the articles and pages this news has, I have to say again that the construction looks pretty likely.
I didn't ever say it would be limited to quadrupedal posture, on the contrary, as seen in the video in the page, it would also use a bipedal walking sometimes.
This reconstruction also doesn't deny Spino was a predator. In fact, it was, hunting fish is still considered predator. And as every predator is opportunistic, it wouldn't let pass a carcass, pterosaur, or even a slow or wounded dinosaur.
The sail also brings more sense to it: in this new reconstruction, Spinosaurus is depicted as a possibly 4-5 tons heavy animal, pretty long and low to the ground, strong, but still fragile for theropod standards. In this case, the sail would help a lot by making it seem bigger than it really is, scaring away possible threat.
The only problem I see in this reconstruction, that is based on fossil data, is why other spinosaurs seem to be so different and much more bipedal.
Did Super Godzilla just say fire breath?
The Deinonychus fought to a draw against an immortal enemy. I'd say that was pretty badass.
Minus the fire breath and about 1600 sq feet of monster, ya one could say he was Godzilla like. Question...Was Spino confirmed as the largest? Last I saw it was this "Giganotosaurs". Guess we cant tell without a complete skeleton.
hmm, so are you asking wich would win in combat?
thank you. thank you very much. i will get ep one out sometime between this friday/tommarow, and sunday.
Why has no one done anything like this before. It's a revelation.
im sorry but this looks awfull, who agrees it was aspecialy painfull with the "dont move" scene
is it just me or does that make enyone else feel just...uncomfurtable
wait, im kinda confused, sciefieking... your my bro, but i cant tell if hes soposed to be a superhero, a mutant, or an aercheolagist(like yours truly)
oh one more thing, HES A MANIAC, MANIAC, ON THE FLOOR, AND HES SHANKING LIKE HES NEVER KNIFED BEFORE!
