Jurassic Park, definitely. It set the bar and just had so much going for it, in terms of story, characters, tension, fun and the joy of seeing dinosaurs so incredibly realized. Spielberg had me hooked, as he did with Jaws, within the first five minutes of the movie, and without showing a damn thing! That's something.
At it's core, it is a B monster movie. Now, before anyone sets about to string me up, that is not a knock. Some of my favorite genre films are B monster movies; among them, King Kong (33), Godzilla (54), Them!, Jaws, Alien, The 7th Voyage of Sinbad, and Tremors, to name but a few. What elevates all of these for this viewer are any number of factors - story, atmosphere, characters, emotion, originality, visual effects and a sense of pure wonder and fun.
Having said that, although JP is number one, I've enjoyed all four. I'm a bit more in JP III's court though than most, specifically because of the Spinosaurus. One of the things I loved about JP, besides seeing how great the dinos looked, etc., was being genuinely scared of the Raptors and T-Rex. I realize the filmmakers were merely looking for something new, since some of the luster had perhaps worn off of the Rex and the Raptors and the wow factor wasn't quite there as it had been in the first two. Regardless of how accurate the portrayal might have been, I found Spinosaurus intimidating; probably slightly moreso than the Indominus. That's a fight I'd love to see. But anyway, the first JP is definitely the best.
No problem friend!
LORD SHIRO - What a very engaging battle! I very much enjoyed the way in which you described the animals' actions! Excellent work! Thank you ever so much for taking the time to share this with us! :)
although there might of been an early form of Ceratosaurus competing with Dilophosaurus. Also I might do a sequel series with an early Tetanurae Theropod
well Dilophosaurus and Crylophosaurus were the largest theropods of their day, the Early Jurassic.
Bro i suggest putting a huge carnivore in the next episode.
Read it and loved it!
I like Tarnoc! His such an interesting Dilophosaurus! Also Juta was well presented and Goji too. I like the stories so far keep up man!
Of course, I hope you like my latest post in Dailey life of a Dilophosaurus, I have included a Gojirasaurus
Thanks! But...SPINOSAURUS IS STILL MY FAVOURITE DINOSAUR!!! XD
Savage.
SAAAAAAAAAAAAVAVAVAVAVAVAVAVAVAVAGAGAGAGAGGEGEGEGEEEE
A rare Gojirasaurus approached the dilophosaurus couples' nest, his kind were once numerous during the Triassic's norian epoch but now they are an endanger species. It was about Dilophosaurus' size and even resembled dilophosaurus somewhat just lacking the ornamental cranial crests.
Tarnoc growled as the intruder approached the nests, he flared out his forearms with his four finger hand (three functional, one vestigial) as he then started to make gurgling noises in his throat to ward off the gojirasaurus. The Gojirasaurus took a step closer before Juta rose from her resting spot, Goji not wanting to have to deal with two dilophosauruses decided it was best to seek a new nesting ground.
A few months later....
Tarnoc awoke to hatchlings chirping, Juta carefully removed the broken shells out of the nest and she disposed of any eggs that did not hatch. Tarnoc stretched himself as he stood up, he walked over to Juta to groom her protofeathers from any parasites before heading out to secure the perimeter of their home. In these few months that had passed, the gojirasaurus Goji had "visited" them more frequently with each passing month. Tarnoc ever so vigilant grew accustomed to his scent, now that Tarnoc has offspring; a new instinct he felt, something new to protect in addition to his mate and himself.
Also SR call me just Shiro.
Dramatic, cool and awesome. Nice story Vader.
Wow i love everyone's pick! Thank you guys!
LORD TYRANT - Oh, this sounds extremely compelling! I am very much looking forward to seeing what you have in store for us! :)
^It's not my actual backstory
Plus, if you were the emperor, I'd use your real first name, which I don't know
Why don't you turn this into a Galactic Empire period piece. With me as the Emperor, and you as...Yourself!
^it won't focus on Lord Tyrant as much as the first installment, but rather Shannon and his other former companions, and, of course, the dinosaurs
^I'll track them down and screw with them
Sounds like a serial killer to me. And what you described is what happened to me with the 'cool kids' at my school
Got betrayed, stopped giving a shit about them, so use them to get ahead. It's not serial killer, but it is pretty manipulative and cruel.
^More or less agree with everything Lord Tyrant said, apart from Jurassic Park III. It's the most cumbersome and redundant of the films by far, but the acting was fine and the Spinosaurus was the least of its problems.
The main problems came from the characters, namely Grant, making the same stupid mistakes again. The ethical ramifications Grant came to peace with in the first movie are largely pitched so he can be lured to the island. The hired mercenaries should've been far more prepared as well. Jurassic Park and the San Diego incident were out of the bag at this point. There was plenty of material to go on in terms of better prep. Dozens of battleships were shown on national television escorting the T-Rex cargo carrier in the second film. You would think that would send up some red flags.
LORD SHIRO - This is an extremely fun topic! Hmm...I would have to say that my favorite marine reptile is the Liopleurodon! It is such a massive and fantastic animal! However, my favorite ancient marine animal is the Basilosaurus/Zeuglodon! :)
CARNOFTW - What a very fun topic! My favorite category is Theropod (carnivores)! :)
hmm looks like I might have to make a hypothetical rival for Dilophosaurus. To be historically accurate to Dilophosaurus's time and geography.
SCI-FI KING25 - I whole-heartedly agree with your assessment! Additionally, it is very good to see you again! :)
Theropods have to be my favorite as well particularly early theropods and members of coelurosauria (basically Tyrannosaurus, Compsognathus, Therizinosaurus, Gallamimus, Shuvuuia, Oviraptor, Velociraptors, Troodon, and Birds)
yeah Pterosaurs might be ornithodira archosaurs like Dinosaurs but they themselves are not dinosaurs.
The entire clade of Plesiosauromorphs
Great chapter, although it was kinda short. I think your character is turning into a serial killer
Mine is Platecarpus. :)
If it is some undiscovered species of marine life I wouldn't be very surprised. We know more about space than we do about our oceans.
