DeltadromeusDinosaurs ForumThe size of Mesozoic animals - Part 3, PterosaursSep 20, 2013
I thought Arambourgiana was a lot bigger than 7 meters. The biggest is around 12. I personally use feet, so this is what I think
Hatzegoperyxs
45 feet
Quetzlequatlus
40 feet
Arambourgiana
40 feet
Ornithocheirus
39-40 feet
I didn't bother to write the next ones (that's my way of saying I didn't know)

12 m is by far too much. The original material of Ornithocheirus, recovered from England, indicates a mid-sized species with a wing span of 2.5 m. Referred specimens attributed to Ornithocheirus can reach 5 m. It was still huge though.

Feel free to upload them, I saw the dino pic you posted a few minutes ago, yet I don't exactly know what dinosaur it is. Anyway, great drawing! :D

I agree with most of what you guys said. Not all, but most ;)
A deadly killing machine in the same size class as Spinosaurus and Tyrannosaurus certainly deserves a little attention from the general public.

Dude they're awesome. The one's I draw are ok, but they're only side views. Not nearly as good as that. 10 out of 10!

P.S. that means very awesome!

I feel like Ornithocheirus/Criorhynchus deserves a spot on there. The lower estimates put it's wingspan at about 6-7 meters while the higher ones suggest it could have been as big as 12 meters.

So, time to post some other pics!:)
Let's start with the older ones. This is a Lambeosaurus drawing I made a while ago:

And here the newer ones, I made today. Here is a Deltadromeus, as requested, and a T-rex vs. Triceratops drawing with an outlined background:

Sorry they're not so elaborated, but I wanted to post'em before the Jurassic week ends.
Surely next will be better.

Nice list. Hatzegopteryx was really huge, as well as Quetzalcoatlus. A wingspan almost as long as T-rex!

Giganotosaurus is a giant blood thirsty sauropod-killing machine, it really deserves more attention. But it will remain unknown to the general public until they won't made it famous with a major documentary or a film with the proportions of Jurassic Park.

Rex Fan 684 I really laughed hard at that joke the first time I saw it.
ReplyArjan BosJurassic World ForumPhil Tippett involved in Jurassic World?Sep 20, 2013
Phil Tippett was brought in for the original Jurassic Park to do Go-motion on the dinosaurs, but his job was then replaced by ILM created CGI dinosaurs. The phrase "Don't you mean extinct" comes from him saying this about his job with this new development with computer animation. He stayed on the project to help the CGI team in letting the dinosaurs move naturally from his experience. In this he did a great job! I think his experience was really missed for JP3 for example.

It was starting to overshadow T. rex in the way that it was getting more press than the king himself. Most people remember this classic late 90's image after they look at it

T. rex was much smaller on average (37-39 vs 43-46 feet)
and Giganotosaurus was on the rise as the new king.
Suddenly, Spinosaurus came on the scene, dwarfing T. rex and Giganotosaurus out of no where . However, the change was too sudden and started a whole new debate on whether Spino could beat rex, shattering the Giganotosaurus vs Tyrannosaurus debate.
Think about it- --Spinosaurus is everything Giga was and more.
Bigger than Giga, way longer arms, bigger skull, longer teeth, better vision, etc.
Giga was simply outclassed before it made it to safety. Spino is the bad guy, but he's becoming a good guy or rather antihero since people are warming up to him. You wouldn't guess it from the ratio of fans here, but here: CLICK HERE Spino fans are on the up and up from just a month ago, when it was 40-60.
Giga already passed Rex HERE
They both are happening on the same site.
Giga is on the rise, as well as Spinosaurus. I see Giga coming up to fame pretty soon.
Spino beats Giga on the site as well: CLICK

Yeah i agree ever since i first found out about Giganotasaurus it has been one of my favorites it really does deserve waaay more attention. i agree with the size estimates i see it being 43 - 45.5 feet
and around 9 tons

Hold your Pentaceratops everybody. Dinosteve isn't just someone who we tell what to draw. I think we should just focus on pic we find, not on what we want someone to make. (Ps Dinosteve, could you make a Yangchuanosaurus? Haha)

Who was Phil Tippett?
ReplyDeltadromeusDinosaurs ForumGiganotosaurus: Why It Isn't A Dinosaur All StarSep 19, 2013
I think that is deserves a lot of attention. 50 feet and 9.5 tons in my book. Giganotosaurus, Ceratosaurus, and Yangchuanosaurus really deserve more attention.
