Glad you enjoyed it. Sure go ahead and send me an example, but next time I do plan to do this fight differently.
Nice job. Can't say I'm too surprised by the victor.
That's for the simple reason that he didn't actually fight until the bitter end. Rexy was almost dead to start, and then it was just a slaughter. Interesting to see all the fights, but I see that if you were written in early, you're f*cked. That's just my observation.
Here's a tip: Practice writing with multiple competitors. Say something fights in the middle, have it bide it's time for a bit and come back, not just fight fight fight, now it's dead. If you'd like, I can send you an example of a crap load of fighteres in one battle.
Just the same, this was a great, looking forward to seeing more of these if you do any more.
Tyrannosaurus wasn't even in this fight, so why mention it exactly? Also, it doesn't win in every fight....so again, i don't know why this was brought up. Granted, this is the reason i don't feature Tyrannosaurus in my fights for this reason.
Moving on, i look forward to what you have in store for us S-Rex
Glad you liked it!!!
Dang it, forgot to make it my 2000th post... Oh well. Guess maybe the actual finale may be my 200th post.
Bit sad not see a dinosaur win but, still awesome.
Interesting, sad to see Rexy go down but i liked it. Neat little cliff hanger as well
Good post, think 5 tons and 11 metres is very possible.
I think it was the asteroid impact took out the plant life and it was facing starvation, weaknening it signifigantly.. because it landed a blow on the Rex's leg but didn't appear to have much force behind it. One of my personal favorite videos of ol' Rexy kicking ass and taking names
Yeah, should've been more damage done to both fighters.
Oh yeah, still love the fight just think rex killed anky to easy.
Yeah, but it's still an awesome fight vid.
Yeah, I've seen that before, is it just me or did the rex take out the anky to easy?
@ Jezza, we don't have its legs. We cannot really know how fast it was, but most of the multi ton theropods weren't very fast at all. There was no need to be. The prey they hunted was low and lumbering for the most part, with a very few exceptions.
This has been discussed in the first description on page 714 to 715. You can read it here:
Acrocanthosaurus neural spines
The greatest problem in this question is probably that we assume morphological similarity to its relatives which lack such structures on their backs. The muscle attachment is possible, but there is no explanation why Acrocanthosaurus would have needed it more than its relatives. If it lived in drier climate than its relatives, fat storage would be plausible.
There are so many different weighing methods and hypothesises, no one knows exactly which one's right
Well, through tried and true methods we have an educated guess to how big these things got. I use several methods in my posts during this series, really leaving no stone unturned to get a best estimate. Unfortunately, that's all we can do because these things are extinct.
I'll just ignore the evolution part.
The neural spines on his neck have a locking system which would require a good deal of muscle. I deffinately agree with it eating dinos other than sauropods. The spine was probably colored to atract mates, but as for just a skin covering, that's just something I don't think is the case. Your view points deffinately aren't stupid, most everyone have different sizes for dinosaurs, that's not a problem. There are so many different weighing methods and hypothesises, no one knows exactly which one's right. With dinos, you have to have some imagination, but not to the point where it completely defies what we know.
Was rooting for Titanoceratops, but still it was a good fight. A lot of these seem like utter mismatches, but the outocme is suprising with some of these, and i like that. Good job once again
MR.HAPPY9097 - Whoo-hoo! Neovenator! That was a very fun and intense battle! I really enjoyed the sizing-up and tactical thinking on the Neovenator's part. Excellent work! Thank you so very much for sharing this with us! :)
If you guys wanna continue this, you're gonna have to use PM. Sorry, but topic locked.
Jezza, there is evidence of a flood, but no real evidence of Noah and some wooden boat that took somehow carriec ALL OF THE EARTHS's SPECIES ON IT, and I coudl go on and on, but I will listen to Mr. Happy. Okay. You have your beliefs, and I have mine. Second, the second you treat your religion like if it's the supreme one and go insulting, not criticizing, but INSULTING other religions, then I am sorry to say you are NOT following the words of your precious Bible, which tells us to respect others, and not go insulting them for their different beliefs. See what you have done to Raptor 700? I have met some Muslim people and they are one of the nicest people i have ever met, nice than most other Christians I have met, that is.
7000, you are not a bad person for being Muslim.
All I ask of you Jezz is to just respect others for their beliefs, and just stop this discussion. This is a forum about a Science Fiction Movie, so do not bring Religion into it. Just think before you post. If you really really really want to continue this, then you can go PM me if you want.
GO Tyrannotitian!!
My name is Raptor-401.
Favorite dinosaur is SPinosaurus or the Velociraptor.
I like the first two films equally.
And something interesting about me is that I am known to do many spoof posts.
MrHappy thanks, there's still 2 more to go!
Nice post, looking forward to them all.
Nice chapter, looking forward to the last one.
Thanks guys.
Neovenator takes on Yutyrannus and the winner of Spinosaurus vs Utahrapror in the round 3 kick starter, and tomorrow's battle is Alioramus vs Tyrannotitan.
Thanks for sharing, those provided a good laugh.
sure! i'll work on it tonight :)
Carnosaur....I agree with everything you said in the series as a whole up until now would you mind to do Utahraptor next as I would love to know its actual size to put on my site
yes, i plan on doing it with most dinosaur families...Among the ones i'm going to be profiling are:
Shantungosaurus Diplodocus Sauroniops
Amphicoelias Giraffititan Carcharodontosaurus
Utah Nodosaur Spinosaurus Triceratops
Utahraptor Tyrannosaurus Torvosaurus
Another great fight. I was rooting for Neovenator.
These are some great estimations! Are you going to do more size estimations for different dinosaurs?
@jezza while it may have been a sauropod killer, this most certainly wasn't the bulk of its diet. It probably fed on the ornithopods and some early hadrosaurs as a staple diet.
We also do not know if the spine was covered in muscle, for all we know id could be covered in a thin layer of skin. All we do know is that these neural spines are thicker in circumferenece then Spinosaurus', and extend further down the back.
As for the 'bodybuilder' refererence, i haven't come across anything that would suggest this. Keep in mind Allosaurus Fragilis was also thought to be a sauropod killer, and it weighed only around two tons. Acrocanthosaurus, being an early carcharodontosaur, probably would not be as heavily built as the later species(Giganotosaurus, Carcharodontosaurus, perhaps even tyrannotitan). Acro was kind of the prototype if you will, a stepping stone in the evolution of the sauropod hunters.
I wasnt exactly rooting for niether of them as well, but if i had to choose, it would probably be Neo. But good fight nonetheless.
there very funny, i already had watched all of them, exept for the Harlem shake
There will be one more chapter after the battle is over.
