You know a film is finally starting to be made when a director hires concept artists! I'm glad they chose these guys. I wouldn't have mind if they hired Neville Page who worked on J.J. Abrams Super 8 or even James Clyne who did Star Trek. I'm glad they have two concept artists so it would be easier to have two to come up with better art!

Grant doesn't have kids. Ellie's probably have no clue about her involvement with the island. Kelly, first of all annoying, but why would she ever want to go back? Tim and Lex are probably the easiest ones to try and bring to the islands, but even then it is a stretch. No, this needs to be a new cast, new story.

Not to be rude at all, but that would make for a really cheesy plotline... Although Kelly was pretty awesome :)

well has anyone put any thought to the fact of the original characters kids? (lex and tim would be arnound 30ish) they would probably be accompanied by ellies kid, Malcolm's kid kelly, grants kid, and other people who had something to do with the islands before (like roland tembo his kid could come)

Ok, but again, that's twenty years that have past. Maybe dinosaur nightmares would've haunted Lex for max ten. By now, I feel that she'd have gotten over her experience. Time to move on. I understand that this is just an idea, and I respect you for it. But I think Lex and Tim had their movie, and now it's time for some new people to take the stage with the appearances of some old characters. I agree about Grant, and really want at least a cameo for him. That would make me really happy. I have all faith in Mr. Trevorrow and Mr. Speilberg's abilities, and I know this will be a spectacular film!

I would say yes to Lex having PTS. Sattler may not have, but she is an adult. Lex (and Tim) both went through those events as children. Events would be terrifying for a child and PTS would certainly be in the realm of possibility. Again, it was simply a plot idea to help move the story away from the main characters, as there really is no way I can imagine those people getting involved in trips to these islands. I think there are a lot of great ways they can make this movie, and these are simply a laundry list of plot ideas to help move away from the principals. As much as I love Malcom and Grant, at this point I would prefer to see them as ancillary or cameo characters.

I think more ideas should be uprooted from the novels more. Theres still lots of juice in the books that could be used as ammo for jpiv. Dont worry guys, the movie is gonna be epic. We got a nice new director and Spielberg even likes cherry-picking so its gonna be a good plot we just have to be patient.

Both of your points are well taken. In my opinion, Jurassic Park just isn't Jurassic Park without its characters. But at this point, I'd be happy to see Grant and Hammond make cameos. I have to say that Lex or Tim reprising a major role would tick me off. Xenothinker, would Lex really be suffering her whole life with post-traumatic stress? Ellie Sattler was able to lead a normal life after her experience, and didn't cringe at speaking with Alan Grant or being reminded of dinosaurs by her son, even after being attacked by raptors and having the disembodied arm of Ray Arnold dropped on her. Would Lex really return to face her fears because of such a great fear? I feel like this plot line is more or less unrealistic.

Your statement is rather paltry in terms of argument. You make it seem as if the only way this movie will survive is if the original cast is on that island. Based off of the events in the movie JP universe, there is very little reason why any of the principals, or side characters, will want to visit those islands. If they are included at this point, the movies will become gimmicky and nothing more than a series like Halloween or Friday the 13th. There are many avenues in which they can take the story, and none of them would have to have the original cast. What would be needed is the right sort of story telling to have the audience relate and care for the characters involved. One such story could take a cue from one of the comic runs; a south american drug lord takes up residence on the old JP island and becomes the victim of an undercover operation. The viewer follows the mole, obviously, thus allowing us to connect with the character. Another scenario could take cues from the books, and also do a throwback to JP1, by introducing InGen's corporate enemys, BioSyn, and it their characters we follow onto the island as they try to snatch dino DNA for themselves. To ensure the audience feels for the cast, one, or more, of this expedition will be on the fence about the whole operation. Yet another scenario could burrow more from the second book and take more of a casual, observational/ biologist/ecologist direction and be a dazzle fest for the audience as a group of government sanctioned scientists (recall in JP2 the island is given a natural preserve status) go in to actually study the animals. In stead of an obvious antagonist, we can have one, or more, of the scientists do something by mistake which in turn causes the bedlam the modern movie goer will expect to see. This way all characters will be generally relatable and likeable which would make any fatality more than canon fodder syndrome. Then there is the idea of the 5 Deaths, established in JP2 as the entire island chain in which inGen has made home of on two islands. There is a subtle line which could lead one to believe that inGen has had operations on all 5 islands and a movie could be about visiting one of these new locations with an inGen or governmental crew to discover how deeply rooted the inGen project really was, as well as its adverse affects on the local ecology. You could even go back to the first book and do a play on the idea of dinos finding ways off of the island, but by this point in the movie verse, this would be a bit of a stretch since no one really goes to these islands.

People seem to like the idea of having Hammod on his deathbed. I think it should be after Hammod's death. Tim, Lex and the original cast should be attending his funeral, and afterwards, a guy goes up to Tim and Lex and says, "Your Grandfather wanted you to have this, I don't know what it is, he wouldn't tell me. It must be very important." When they opened it, it contained documents on the two islands, the statistics on the buildings, and information about Ingen. There was also a note that said Hammod wanted his grandchildren to do one last favour for him. The favour was to check up on the islands, and a map was attached to the note. The back of the map said "In case of an emergency, this map has been given to you for reference. As you can see, a helicopter is at the old visiting centre on Isla Nublar. Be careful." Tim and Lex convince the original crew to go with them. They check on Isla Nublar first, where life is thriving, and the visiting centre is in tact. They then check on Isla Sorna, where life is not doing so well. One of the few surviving dinosaurs is the Spinosaurus, which hasn't had a decent meal in years and survived off of fish and carcasses. Of course, perfection can't last forever, and this is where everything spirals out of control. The helicopter has an engine malfunction, stalls, and plummets towards the island. Everyone evacuates, and when they land, start searching for a land bridge Tim found on the map. After they reach the land bridge, the Spinosaurus attacks them. Everyone survived the attack, and they continued along the land bridge, but Spinosaurus was following them. There was a mountain (which kept the dinosaurs of the islands separated) and they crossed it (and so did Spinosaurus). They reached Isla Nublar, and Spinosuarus attacked the first wounded dinosaur it saw and had it's first decent meal in years. Afterwards, they reached the visitor centre (where of course the T.Rex had her nest). They started the helicopter ( after a bit of maitenence) and The hatchlings were curious as to what was going on outside and checked it out. The mother also checked it out and saw the helicopter and Spinosaurus. The helicopter was out of her reach, so she turns to the Spinosaurus. The Spino charged and got the first swift scratch or bite. The T.Rex shook it off and bit the Spino's neck and killed it instantly (add your own fight for increased excitement). Then the male T.Rex wakes up and checks out what happened outside (had to throw in some comedy). The Spino not fighting or having a decent meal in years is my given excuse to Spino fans to cushion the blow of Spino getting killed by a 7 ton T.Rex capable of biting Spino's head off first try (No offence to Spino fans, I like Spino to, I just like T.Rex more)

well then HOW are we going to return to the islands no ones that dumb to go there willingly but you have to include a few original characters to it or else its just a bunch of people on an island with giant man eating lizards running after them who are there for NO REASON so i say yes original cast more new characters and awesome plot

I've read it bout a million times now I've annualized every key detail to it if your a jp nut you'll love it to the matter of the attractions i was thinking 4 phases phase 1 to include vistor center lab, guest accommodations standard tour (dinosaur too not sure which ones yet) park rangers phase 2 to include more dinos another tour (river tour) and several buildings phase 3 to include Aviery more dinos "safari" tour phase 4 to include second dock for cruise ships off land airport balloon ride and vistor paddock (so they can touch the animals) these will most likely change but this is a rough idea anyways

Just...no. If this new trilogy wants to have any sort of steam, the influence of the past needs to be minimal. IMO none of the original cast should be going to any inGen infested dino isles. There is no logical reason for them to go there. JP3 showed Grant return only due to dubious amounts of deceit. He thought it was an aerial tour with financing for his dig. You can bet your aces he would not fall for that trick again. They even hinted that Satler had no desire to return to that (those) islands.) Ian made it very clear in JP2 (the movie) he had nothing but contempt for the company and its creations and only went to save his lover. There is no way you can get those principals back on the island. I have stated in other threads the most plausible story ideas, but have a new idea if everyone is so intent on having the originals show up. Tim (or Lex - Lex most likely) has lived their life with terrible post traumatic stress of their experience on the island. A shrink finally decides, after years of not getting anywhere with the client, the best solution is for the person to face their fears and to return to the island for a weekend. If you wanted you could throw in Grand, Satler and Malcom in as cameos in conversation about how terribly bad that idea is, but leave them there. Long story short, and after several innocents die (presumably inGen hired security people) the characters leave the island exactly the way they arrived, this time with a new, profound appreciation for the genetic monstrosities their grandfather pioneered.

It would be great if Universal made a JP prequel.

it just wouldn't be the same with out him and if you were gonna cut him from his role youd have to make the paleontogist who takes his role his child or close relative (or tim) as to get to the island how about lexs plane crashes over top of the island chain and shes cast away to isla nublar where the dinosaurs have survived in caves. shes hunted arcoss the island so and so

For me the Spinosaurus is like Brown Bear, because this dinosaur has enormous claws and strong arms. Besides its size and weight are enormous, then like bears, this dinosaur was a dangerous creature. I can imagine this beast feeding on fish and sometimes killing other dinosaurs like Ouranosaurus with its huge claws, and why not? also carrion. But despite all this, there is nothing that can withstand the bite of a T.Rex.

Because T.Rex is an icon, but is also the most powerful of all. Anyway there many large theropod such as; Torvosaurus, Saurophaganax, Tyrannotitan, Mapusaurus, Carcharodontosaurus and I've read that recent investigations have determined that the Suchomimus can become as large and heavy as a T.Rex.

Would love to see the spino taken down by a pack of mean allosaurs, which are then challenged by an adult bull Rex for the food, who instantly takes down the packs alfa male with one bite to the neck, the Rex's family then turns up, so the rest of the pack scatter. Leaving the Rex's to eat spino. Now you no longer need to see the Rexes for the rest of the film and the allosaurs pack can be the main antagonist for the people in it. Making the Rex king again but with new dinosaurs involved.

cheers mrhappy9097 haha sounds funny reading that out loud :) tbf i must of miss read what u had written lol my bad :s but yh ur idea was just as gd , ur idea is what gave me mine. any way as for hammond dying, well technically he is 92 in real life now lol so realistically playing a part of him on his death bed would be kinda relevent. but i dunno. Id like the new film to be something to do with BIOSYN so its still intact somewhat to the original trilogy but then the writers can still take it off in a new direction plus new cast. I think also maybe a type of court room about the conspiracy about the deaths on the islands! which could be at the beggining. this means bringing back original cast just for an appearence, where they have been asked to keep shtum about what happened on the other islands exactly in risk of being sued. i dunno im kinda just blabbing on now. IDEALLY tho i think the BIOSYN story line is my best one with DODGESON'S attempts of engineered dinos with 10 years caught up research. A new way of DNA extract, could mean fast stronger n more accurate dinos on another island nobody even knew about. All i can say is these planet of the apes writers have got their bloody hands full in hope of pleasing a hell of alot of people. Cos if they ruin this franchise hell will break loose!!!

I really really like [b]mamaofenzlo's[/b] idea, except i can't see Tim trying to reopen a park that he nearly died in when he was young. And the idea of John Hammond on his deathbed makes me kinda sad... but other than that, it's an interesting plot

A big sauropod like apatosaurus would be cool with the visitor center Haha the poor Costa rican gov't has had to deal with so many problems with dinos - but yeah, for that island, since it's already a nature preserve, they'd probably be happy about a biological preserve I'm currently reading Jurassic Park the novel, and something I think would be cool to add is some sort of dock or harbor. They mention in the book that Nublar lacks a good harbor, and Sorna has some rivers but nothing major. Then you can incorporate sea creatures!

There are so many great ideas for a potential plot. I really like Jhawkins1987's continuation of my my idea. I did say the middle, but hawkins's idea is a nice touch and improvement. There are so many ideas, each could be it's own movie (which would be unlikely, cool but unlikely).

I think that the plot should be: On his deathbed, John Hammond calls in Malcolm, Sattler, and Grant to discuss the future of the islands. He tells them that he is leaving the islands to his grandchildren, Tim and Lex, who are now adults with families of their own. Having been through the horrors at Isla Nublar, Hammond feels that they are the best bet for the further confinment of the dinosaurs still located on Isla Sonar. Years pass and Lex is still terrified of the idea of the islands, so she has prefered to stay uninformed about what is happening with them, until she receives something in the mail that gives her suspicion that Tim has plans to open Jurrasic Park. Tim will tell Lex nothing about the goings on at Isla Nublar, so she contacts Satler, Malcolm, and Grant for their assistance in the matter. All that she knows is that it appears something is going to happen the next on Isla Nublar, because what she recieved was an invitation to a grand opening. They form an expedition, along with several expendable helpers, to get to the bottom of it before it is too late.

To Mrhappy9097 I like the idea of the trex breaking out at the end of the movie. Like as if the cast r on the run n they just think they have escaped n then crash!!! Rooooaaarrrr !!! CREDITS to be continued kinda leaves the audience at first dissapointed cos they think the new director aint put rex in, but then BAM !!! Major excitement for the following one :)

I agree totally with Paden, you can't take the raptors, but you could fill the second leading character role with carnotaurus. it could play an instrumental role in chasing the humans right to the super predator, and then maybe get eaten after getting some glory and good screen time. I say if it was in Michael Crighton's book, it deserves to be in the movie!

I for one think your idea is interesting [b]ALI3N[/b]. Here's the thing: like [b]KillerKnife[/b] said, it just doesn't fit for Jurassic park. I feel like the problem here is the large-scaleness of your idea. I don't think it's rational for a terrorist group to hate all of North America so much that they team up with Biosyn to destroy it all with dinosaurs. It just doesn't feel realistic. And the game preserve/ bidding thing just feels like a stretch. Totally Hunger Games. What if, instead, the competition between Biosyn and Ingen was more small scale? What if the whole problem with Isla Nublar and Sorna was causing contention between the Costa rican government and the US, and so Biosyn attempts to solve the problem themselves. Biosyn could create their own lysine dependent dinosaurs and somehow get them to Sites A and B to attempt to eliminate the ingen dinos, intending to kill their own dinos (who are lysine dependent) afterwards. They would do this to get major funding if they could solve the problem. This could create a thrilling face-off between the ingen and biosyn dinos, but only on the two islands. This way, an entire continent doesn't have to be involved. I could see Alan Grant stuck between these huge fights. Just an idea; I really liked yours, [b]ALI3N[/b], but I just wanted to expand. What do you guys think? Still too much?

All these scripts are really interesting... I will be happy if thedinosaurs are NOT near a big city. We had our fill of that in JP2, and the whole idea of some monster in a city is classic, but WAY overused, and not appropriate in my opinion for JP4. Enough movies have been made where some alien, animal, or monster attacks a city - The Hulk, Avengers, Rise of the Planet of the Apes, King Kong, The Amazing Spiderman, the list goes on and on. Honestly, I get bored of t-rex smashing cars and eating civilians. Unless the director and crew can pull off something truely spectacular in a city scene, PLEASE keep the dinos away from cities!!!

isla del coco is a really interesting idea. i looked up some info and pics, and it is currently a nature preserve island near costa rica. [img]http://www.diving-world.com/imagescompressed/Cocos%20Islands/cocos_island1_clip_image002.jpg[/img] what better place to incorporate a new secret ingen operation? maybe rather than a park,it could be a little more like isla sorna - a test sight for manufactuing dinos, except not neglected and abandoned. maybe alan grant stumbles upon the island to realize it is currently in use by ingen, but then minimal staff workers are killed and grant is trapped. if we were to incorporate an actual working in action laboratroy, that opens up the possibliities of a bunch of new dinos!!!

the dinos on nublar survived in underground cavers lex & tim take over ingen and go to the isalnd they get attacked they call grant and ellie to come down and save them but they get stuck on the island and ingens sends the marines to save them all

I think the dinosaurs should return to Isla Nublar...the abandoned laboratory would be perfect for the 4th movie! I hope Colin Trevorrow is a good director.
