My opinion on the Jurassic Park franchise

MemberAllosaurusJun-04-2021 1:08 PMHey fellow Dino-fans. I'm sonictiger, I usually either post on Scified's editorals, fan art, or the Godzilla-Movies.com portion of the site. Anyways, the best way to introduce myself to this site is to do a topic. Anyways, I've had mixed feelings about the Jurassic Park/World franchise as a whole. Don't get me wrong, I absolutely love the very first movie. The original had suspense, very good visual effects, and a good story and characters. Also the whole "Life finds a way" speech is probably one of the best quotes in film. It's really the mixed quality of the sequels that provokes these sort of mixed to negative feelings. I did like The Lost World enough, but it was totally not at all like the first movie. With some rather annoying characters and a ok story, it wasn't great in the slightest. I never watched Jurassic Park 3 but I probs will even if it turns out to be the mucky stupidness that lots of people say it is. Jurassic World gave a sort of resurgence to a dead franchise, and it was a really good movie showing very interesting concepts, a good and suspenseful story, good characters, and amazing VFX. Almost everything about this movie seemed right while it wasn't AS GOOD as the OG Jurassic Park. And then Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom happened. It really isn't that good, 6/10 movie. BARELY a 6/10 movie. The movie does have good visuals, ok characters, and a really good cliffhanger going for it. But the story is meh, the human villains suck, I think the Indoraptor is cool but there's no creativity and it's a weaker version of the Indominous Rex. The film really couldn't stand on it's own but it has some redeemable moments that make it a smidgen better then The Lost World which is also a 6/10. Honestly, I hope Jurassic World: Dominion is a good movie and all. But I don't have a lot of faith in a franchise that's only really had 2 good movies and 3 not so good movies. But hopefully, Dominion is great enough to save this ailing franchise. Anyways I like this series, so I hope Jurassic Park/World cleans up it's act. I've said all I want to say so put your thoughts in the comments...

MemberAllosaurusJun-13-2021 7:32 AMWhats wrong with human cloning? I mean InGen already cloned the dinosaurs, which is an epic if not god-tier feat in itself. Cloning a human would be child's play

I think the real issue of that reveal wasn't the fact that she was a clone, it was the fact that they didn't do much with that idea so it ended up feeling like a cheap twist (hopefully Dominion will expand on this idea).

MemberAllosaurusJun-13-2021 1:09 PMI think the human clone was done okay, I mean she is a realistic clone. Considering in fiction where somehow Clones inherit the memories of their "parent" which thankfully Maise didn't do. A Clone would be more like an identical child that looks just like you instead of a mere copy of you complete with memories. So Maise was all they could do for a realistic human clone character and it gave her a symbolical connection with the dinosaurs.
With that a side, I believe the next Jurassic Park/World movie is going to be heavily focused on the dinosaurs
