Time for a silly discussion, dinosaur names!
Dinosaur names are pretty crazy. Sometimes you get your simple ones like Velociraptor, Pteranadon, Spinosaurus, and Carnotaurus, then there are dinos like Parasaurolophus, Piatnitzkysaurus, Colepiocephale, and Quetzalcoatlus (I know it's a pterosaur but I'm cheating, sue me).
Personally, I don't know how the hell these names are made/picked.
So the main question of this thread is, what Prehistoric names give you a funny feeling. Whether it's laughing at it or having a hard time saying it, what Dino names make you laugh more than intrigue you.
Hardly any rules here, it can be any prehistoric creature you want (even mammals).
Discuss away!

As a whole, I've to say that Rhamphorhynchus has the absolute most boggling name for me when it comes to extinct life-forms! It's utterly hideous in its spelling and looks like a bad spread in Scrabble!
This was a very interesting and fun topic! Thank you ever so much for presenting this to us! :)
P.S - Your new avatar image is quite neat! :)

MemberCompsognathusOct-21-2014 2:52 AMHello, nice to meet you.
HATZEGOPTEREX . this was a giant 40 foot pterosaur from the island of hatze. But what was strange about it was that it was the top predator of its time.
XENOSMILUS. a super muscular 500 to 800 pound saber tooth cat. What is strange about this beast is that it belonged to both groups of saber tooth cats. The two groups are schimitar cats who have shorter saber teeth but longer front legs for running. And dirk- toothed cats who have longer, skinner sabers but have shorter, thicker and more robust arms.

MemberCompsognathusOct-21-2014 7:07 AMI would have to say Oxalia. I'm never sure if I am saying it right or not. It's just so hard to say for me. I'm not even sure I am spelling it right. XD Also that Dino image is awesome!

MemberCompsognathusOct-21-2014 1:34 PMOr Micropachycephelosaurus, the longest dinosaur name of them all. 23 letters long! The ironic thing is the animal is only 3 ft long, lol
