Why so much hate about the first two sequels?

Till this day i see people writing bad stuff about JP2 and JP3. I find them both incredible movies (Except the scene on JP3 where the raptor says to alan "alan"). Also the Spino is just EPIC on JP3 and the whole san diego incident is dope :P I know they are not like the first movie, but if we don't support the movies (the fans) then who will? :P Soo i would like to know Why don't you like the sequels?
I personaly think Spinosaurus was a good choice because of its profile. Remember that the average person only knows Tyrannosaurus, Velociraptor, Triceratops, "Brontosaurus", and maybe Stegosaurus. Many large predators would make great antagonists, but most have a similar profile with a large head and relatively short arms. If you show the average person a picture of these dinos, they are going to call it a T. rex. Spinosaurus on the other hand has an unmistakeable fin along with a long snout and arms. If you show someone a picture of this dino, they won't know what to call it because T. rex has a boxier head and does not have a fin. With a touch of Hollywood magic that was given to all the dinosaurs it made a pretty cool movie monster. I also like how the dinosaurs were more colorful in JP3.
The Lost World was an average sequel to Jurassic Park. In my opinion they took way too many liberties with the Chrichton story, and modified it in the screenplay far too extensively. The Lost World novel was a great sequel to Jurassic Park...it didn't need spicing up.
Jurassic Park 3 is just a terrible movie from top to bottom. Awful premise. Even worse dialouge. A combination of actors with no believable chemistry. I feel bad for the people who did all that work on the Spinosaurus, only to have it used so poorly and become such a despised character.
When I first saw JP3, there was a moment...after the plane landed, and when the group was first being attacked by the Spino that I thought....this could be a good ride. It wasn't. As soon as the Tyrannosaur was killed...the movie basically nose-dived.
When I was in elementary school, JP3 was my favorite in the franchise. I loved the introduction to the spinosaurus, the pterosaurs, and since I was an 8 year old boy, I naturally loved the poop secene. But now, looking back on it, I see all the flaws people are talking about. The cell phone, and the character of Amanda Kirby. I still love it, I don't think it's BS like people are saying, but I can't deny it is flawed. Everytime I rewatch TLW, I love it more and more, it's now my second favorite after JW.
The answer is expectations. When you make sequels to one of the greatest blockbusters in cinema history, the comparison is going to be harsh. Some here may be too young to remember, but I saw the original Jurassic Park in theaters. None of the sequels were the event that the first movie was-- Even the new film. It was all that movie fans, kids and merchandising firms could think about for a year and a half. You couldn't escape it no matter where you turned.
The Lost World was at one point, and likely still is by a vocal minority, considered Spielberg's worst film. (They've clearly never seen 1941.) I think that opinion has softened over the years and the film is looked at more favorably by general audiences/critics.
Really, none of the sequels remotely tap the level that Jurassic Park is at, but that's okay. They're good movies in their own right. Not great movies, but fun and they carry on the franchise name with some respect.
I for one think The Lost World is the next best movie in the franchise while the other two are neck and neck for 3rd place.
I liked a lot TLW especially the San Diego scenes(and I would recommend a similar scene for JW sequel), JP3 make me just love the spino as kid, although the movie didnt affect me to change from Trex to Spino because I still love spino in the updated version, I was a fan of spino way before the movie I liked him from the time I got it's toys, but as many on the forum said it was not something majestic, it was a plot had nothing to do with the JP background. For me it was just a dinosaur movie with a poor fight and a JP character nothing more. I have to admit that Velociraptor design in JP3 was awesome instead that plain colour with big eyes crap in JW, JP and TLW, I wonder why they reject it in JW :/
TLW is my 2nd favorite and I like it. Like the 1st film, it had a few minor problems but other than that it's a decent movie. The dinosaurs are awesome, the effects are great, the action scenes are fun to watch, and it's darker than its predecessor. Overall, it's an underrated film. JP3 is a different story. The 30 second Spino vs T. rex fight sparked one of the most controversial arguments, the characters are idiots and don't develop, and some parts defy logic.
