CONFIDENTIAL: VELOCIRAPTOR RESEARCH PADDOCK.
Photos taken by security cameras surrounding paddock glass. To be used for study and anaylsis by Carnivore Keepers and Behavioral Specialist: Owen.
Supervisor Analysis:This is a very interesting revelation. At the Velociraptor Behavioral Research Paddock, we have been conducting behavioral research on the Raptors to see how they move and communicate. Recently they have been acting strangley when we made the glass two sided and allowed them to see us as well. The plexi-glass still has a metal electrical conductor frame that (if pressure is applied to the glass) shoots 10,000 volts through the enclosure-side of the glass. Now, when the photos were taken (all at once, in different spots) it was the first day seeing how they would react to human interface. Although they still show some positive responses at times to Owen and the head Carnivore Keeper, Nathan, the two sided glass immediately realized a change in Raptor Behavior. The Alpha Male (seen in the picture, closest to the glass.) immediately vanished, and two subordinates strode into view. They called out something and did certain head gestures, clicked their toe-claws, and suddenly tails started appearing in the long grass. Eyes poking out of bushes. The whole pack was watching us. And ready to strike. As we were focused on the entire pack that was making their way towards us, suddenly the Alpha Male's head burst out of the bushes, screeching a high-pitched scream. Then, he stopped short, either seeing that the metal frame was still surrounding the glass, hearing its electrical hum, or both. Or, perhaps he was smart enough to know that he couldn't get to us. Either way, the Raptors had ambushed us and tried to kill us. Then, the Alpha hissed. bared his teeth (refer to the picture, this was when it was taken) and ran into the bushes. Soon after, the rest of the pack vanished too. The two Raptor Keepers Jim and Laura (far left and far right on the High Rise Raptor Pavilion) and Head Carnivore Keeper Nathan (Middle on the Pavilion) saw the change in behavior and realized something was wrong. They radioed me in and asked if I was ok. No one was harmed, but everyone is jostled. Watch these animals closely.
