Death Duels 9097 Small Sector Round 1 Fight 2: Liliensterunus vs Troodon

Liliensterunus

Liliensterunus was large for a Late Triassic predator. It was about ten feet long and five hundred pounds. It hunted creatures such as Plateosaurus, and likely didn't have much competition. It likely used its jaws and claws in fights.

Troodon

Troodon is said to be the most intelligent dinosaurs to ever live. It had large eyes, and may have been nocturnal. It was closely related to Dromeasaurs, so it likely had similar characteristics. Troodon fought with its claws, was fast, and a pack hunter. Troodon was about ten feet long and one hundred pounds.

Begin!

A Liliensterunus is walking through his territory late in the afternoon. He is doing his daily patrol, making sure there are no threats. He suddenly sensed something in some bushes behind him, and turned around to see a lone Troodon. The Troodon, who is hungry and has hungry young, has been hunting for hours, and this Liliensterunus is the only thing she's seen, so she isn't about to turn down the opportunity.

They stare at each other, and the Liliensterunus charges. The Troodon sidesteps and jumps on his side, slashing him and causing some bleeding. She jumped off afterward, and the Liliensterunus charged again, and missed again. The Troodon slashed his leg and jumped back. The Liliensterunus turned to face her, and just watched, waiting for her to attack.

The Troodon knew that he was waiting for her to attack, and she looked around, glancing back to him every couple seconds. The Liliensterunus was confused, and he looked up too. He saw it was getting dark, but he didn't know why the Troodon was so distracted.

The Troodon looked back at the Liliensterunus with a new confidence. She knew that the Liliensterunus would beat her at the moment, but if she could kill an hour, the battle would be in the night, her domain. The Liliensterunus attacked, knowing that the Troodon was planning something. She sidestepped, and he charged again. The Troodon was doing everything in her power to keep the Liliensterunus at bay until nightfall.

An hour later, she got what she wanted. It became dark, and at the same time as his vision being reduced, he was getting tired. The Troodon ran through some bushes to divert his attention, and then she ran in from the side, knocking him over. She attacked relentlessly, doing as much damage as she could before jumping off. The Liliensterunus kicked, and sent the Troodon ten feet in the air, landing on her feet. She looked at her opponent, waiting for the right moment to attack. When he was almost to his feet, she ran at him again. He sidestepped and bit her tail, causing her to stop mid stride. She fell, and the Liliensterunus attacked her, going for her exposed belly.

She kicked him in the face, blinding him in one eye, and causing blood to pour into the other eye. He was nearly blind now, shaking his head around trying to clear the blood from his face, and when he did, the Troodon had disappeared. He looked around for her, and a sudden rustling in the trees got his attention. The Troodon had jumped into a tree and was right above the Liliensterunus. Thinking that it was a rouse, he turned around, looking for her in the bushes.

All of a sudden, she jumped out of the tree and landed on his back. She bit the back of his head, and started slashing his sides with her feet, and his face with her hands. One hand claw hit the main target, his remaining good eye, and permanently blinded him. He roared in pain, and the Troodon ripped him open, causing blood and guts to pour out the hole in his side.

She looked at her dead opponent, and called for her young. The family ate, and then left, knowing that scavengers would be attracted in the morning.

Winner..... Troodon

Smarter, nocturnal, and having a family to feed gave Troodon the edge in this one.

About the image, I'm sorry, had to do it, it was too damn funny to pass up.

Thanks. I've still got 13 more, although one of them might be classified as a joke more than a fight, oh well, I'll make up for it.

Nice job, last photo was hilarious.
