My Opinion on Spinosaurus

My opinion on Spinosaurus is that it could get to about 10 tons and 60 feet long at the most. I think that the fossil that was bombed in WW2 was one of, if not, the largest Spino that will ever be found. My reasoning is that it was found in poor condition, and may have been the only one that was strong enough to survive the millions of years in the desert before it was discovered. I think Spino may have averaged around 50-53 feet long, and 7-8 tons in weight.

I like your ideas mr happy. I do have to disagree with the weight, I think it is about 8 tons at that size, but I'm not saying your wrong, and I'm not saying I'm right. I the Spino could be in poor condition just because it was scavenged by something big after it died. And it died most likly if old age because almost nothing would attack a Spino that big.

You never know. But, this is my opinion.

I put Spino at 46-56 ft long, 20-23 ft tall(head), and 5-7 tons. Comparable to both of your estimations. Cacharodontosaurus would have been more than capable of taking on an adult Spinosaurus. Not underrating Spino or anything, but Carchar was a fierce and large carnivore too.

Well that is at your estimate. And this is about twenty feet longer than carcharadontosaurus. Very scary, no matter what you are. (Sauropods over 100 feet not included.)

Longer than Carchar and probably a little heavier, but Carchar was probably more powerful and had the more lethal bite. These are just my opinions of course. Spino and Carchar could hold their own in a fight against one another. Neither would be invincible even as an adult.

Your right, but Spino is longer, has more teeth, and a huge sail that can be flushed with blood. Remember, most "fights" are normally two predators roaring at eachother.

Yeah I know. I'm not looking to get into a debate about this or anything. Just stating my opinion. Gotta work on the Delta vs Diplo fight right now.

I'm rooting for Delta, but putting my money on Diplo. Ps. Rex Fan, have you read my story yet?

Alright, let's look at the statistics. Spinosaurus had a large sail atop it's back. This can tell us a lot about the animal itself. If we can figure out where the spine connects to the hips and the legs, then we can find out how tall and long the animal was. Now you're probably saying "That doesn't asnwer my question" But, in a way it does. The saurischan hips are so unique, especially on Spinosaurus Aegypticus that if we can find several of those hips we can determine the average size of a Spinosaurus, and ou of the data we have collected, the average size estimation is about 11 tons and 64 feet

You have to look at the whole animal though. Not saying you are wrong and I'm right though.

This discussion was more about opinions, and I'm glad to see that there are different opinions on this very peculiar dinosaur.

This is how I list the four biggest carnivores(most commonly stated) Biggest to smallest(relatively speaking that is) 1. Tyrannosaurus rex- 40-50 ft long, 18-23 ft tall, 7-10 tons 2. Giganotosaurus- 40-46 ft long, 18-20 ft tall, 7-8.5 tons 3. Spinosaurus- 45-56 ft long, 20-23 ft tall(head), 5-7 tons 4. Carcharodontosaurus- 36-40 ft long, 14-16 ft tall, 5-6.5 tons Sizes based on my estimates and don't correct me. I'm not correcting anyone else. Just stating how I list em and what the sizes are IN MY OPINION.

I'm sure many, if not all, agree that Spinosaurus was truly a unique and giant predator.

If we're talking opinions here, then these are mine, 1: Giganotosaurus, 50 long, 20 tall, 9 tons 2: T. rex, 42 ( I will believe 45) long, 16-17 tall, 10 tons 3: Spino, 60 long, head 20 sail 27, 8 tons

I do have to admit that it is biased in Giganotosaurus's favor, but I do think it is possible.

Delta, so you don't use weight to determine which is biggest? I'm not saying you can't do that or anything, it's your opinion after all, but all the "pros" use weight. Giraffes are taller and longer than elephants, but elephants weigh more and are considered bigger. I'm just saying. Not correcting or anything. You can go by how you want to.
