Pyroraptor vs Tarascosaurus
Pyroraptor
At 8 ft long and 125 lbs, Pyroraptor was slightly bigger than it's more famous cousin Velociraptor. Like all raptors, these dinosaurs were smart and deadly killers.

Tarascosaurus
These 20-26 ft long, 2 ton predators were some of Europe's foremost predators at the time. Like all abelisaurs, Tarascosaurus primarily used it's teeth and jaws in combat. There is a reason why the name Tarascosaurus means "Spanish dragon."

Fight
A lone Tarascosaurus is feeding on a large iguanodont it just killed. It's a humid day and he is happy to have a break. But his peace will soon be interrupted. A trio of Pyroraptors, attracted by the scent of blood, soon arrive. The abelisaur looks up and quickly dismisses them, not really seeing them as threats. The raptors shriek a challenge at the larger predator. Now they have his attention. He looks up again and stands up to his full height. Towering over his competitors, he roars back. The raptors flinch slightly, but soon get over it. They begin to surround the Tarascosaurus. The pack is made up of three brothers. Young and inexperienced, they have no idea what they are getting into. The old Tarascosaurus is a combat veteran. The long scar on his snout tells of serious battles. He is not about to back down. One of the raptors leaps up to try and get on his back. The abelisaur is ready and swings his tail. The raptor falls about ten yards away. Resilient as rubber, the young raptor bounces back up. His two brothers have better luck. They are able to get on the back of the abelisaur. His armor and thick skin is preventing them from causing a lot of damage though. Without long arms, he can's swipe at them to try and get them off. Despite their efforts, they are unable to get a good blow in. The raptors jump off and reassess the situation. They study their opponent and try to find a weak spot. Then, they see it. His throat is unarmored and vulnerable. They devise a simple, but effective plan. One raptor stays in front of the abelisaur and the other two each take up positions on his flanks. The Tarascosaurus looks from one raptor to the next, trying to figure out what they are doing. Just then, they attack. The raptors on the flanks jump onto his sides and begin to slash with teeth and claws. His sides are not as well armored and they are able to cut him more easily. While he tries to shake them off, the other leaps towards his throat while his is distracted. But this predator is not going down so easily. He swings his head and smashes the smaller carnivore away. The raptor lies on the ground, panting. The other two jump off and go to inspect their pack mate and brother. The Tarascosaurus charges forward despite his injuries. The raptors see his enormous jaws and sidestep. But he was not going for them. Now that they are out of the way, he turns to the fallen one. He wants to make sure the job is down. He plants one foot on the body and takes the head in his mouth. Pinning the body to the ground, he brings his head up. He opens his mouth and the raptors head hits the ground. For a brief moment, everything is silent. Then the remaining raptors attack. They jump back onto his sides and begin to slash again. The larger abelisaur is bleeding heavily now, but is not going down. He shakes his body, but the raptors don't fall off. He then makes an unexpected move. He slams the side of his body against a tree, smashing the raptor. The other one is thrown off balance and falls. He falls hard and has several broken ribs. The Tarascosaurus moves over and bends down. He picks up the squirming raptor and with the force of a thousand pounds, crushes him, ending the attacker's life. But killing the raptor is not enough for the Tarascosaurus. He decides to use the bodies as a signal to all other Pyroraptors in the area. Using his large foot claws, he disembowels the body. After this is accomplished, he stamps his foot and roars at the top of his lungs. Animals for miles around scatter at the sound of the "Spanish dragon."
Winner- Tarascosaurus

Bigger and stronger than Pyroraptor, Tarascosaurus was better suited to heavy combat. Not to mention experience and environmental issues that would have played a part.

A tribute to this season's winners and, like last season, a bonus battle to commemorate the battles.
