The Vendian era Ediacarans

The Ediacarans were a group of soft bodied creatures that were bands of cells clinging together for a while, until they broke apart. However, the group Ediacarans died out before the Cambrian, therefore scientists don't know if they're to be considered animals. What do you think? Post a response and explain your reasoning.
