In the book the first island was fire bombed

well the dino-soldier incarnation of the fourth movie was planning to do that. that being said, you're right. i feel like the third one even was a sort of missed oppurtunity where not much character of isla sorna was developed. in each of the first 2 we were sort of being christened into this new environment that was really interesting and fresh. i feel like you could dig up so much more intrigue into both of those two islands. and i feel like the aesthetic of the industrialized theme park set against the jungle in the first movie really made for a unique movie-going experience. it was a damn cool idea. i am waiting for more damn cool ideas.

Alas, your looking at it wrong, giving us 20 years for the creatures on nublar to evolve, it builds up the surprise of what could happen
