I don't see why spino looks so slender. Though I love your speculations on the spinosaurus hunting tequniques.

@Sci-fi King25, that would be cool! Maybe imagine a couple pterosaurs resting on a Spino's sail while he is swiming! I may draw that.

Personally, I think it would be cool to see pterosaurs picking food from a Spinosaurus's teeth like a plover and a crocodile.

Thanks Something Real! I actually got inspiration for this thread from your thread about Spinosaurus Nesting.

SCI-FI KING25 - That was an incredibly neat battle to read! You know, I've never before heard of the Zhuchengtyrannus? Not only have you provided me with a fun bit of entertainment, but you've also provided me with a learning experience! Thank you ever so much for sharing this fine work with us! :)

What did you guys think? Also, I'm planning to add an herbivore for the next fight, so a suggestion would be helpful.

GOJIRA2K - This is a very interesting and extremely well presented set of theories! I greatly enjoy the amount of detail and description you've placed into your work - fantastically done! The hunting concepts were most fascinating to read, and quite feasible if applied to Spinosaurus Aegyptiacus' new physiological configuration. Thank you so very much for taking the time to compose and present this fantastic look at the Spinosaurus! :)

MYSTIQUE - You should be quite proud of your work as it has accomplished two decided goals. The first is that it's entertained those who have read it - on a grand scale! The second is that it brought us together to share in a civil ring of entertainment in which we actually managed to get along with flying colors! I, for one, am quite pleased with your acheivement! You bring pride to the community! :)

S-Rex made an honest mistake there. We all do. It happens, and I see what he means about it. Perhaps saying it shouldn't have been created was a bit harsh, but whatever, he proceeded to say or at least not posted. Everyone has different views and ideas, but I honestly see where he's coming from in thinking Rex vs Spino was prohibited. Nonetheless, I'm glad this hasn't started a pointless arguement. I went purely by JP sizes, and gave Spino a decent size for those who are of the opinion that the JP3 Spino was a subadult. I had a good time writing this, so I'm glad everyone likes it.

MYSTIQUE - Ah! I thought there was a decided lack of information concerning topics pittingTyrannosaurus Rex against Spinosaurus in the FAQ; it's excellent and most agreeable to know I hadn't made an oversight. :)

Thanks everyone. Means a lot that this has been such a success.

S-Rex, no actually. There's no official rule that states Rex vs Spino is banned. Paden did a "Need to know" topic a while back, and one thing he said was not reccommended was Rex vs Spino. Chris said it himself a while back, if people want to make a Rex vs Spino thread, they'll make a Rex vs Spino thread. It's not prohibited, just not really the best idea.

I can agree with that and I think that it would be a truly scary yet impressive sight.

TYRANT KING - With regards to the animal's sail, I've a loose theory that it might have been utilized in a fashion similar to a rudder - providing greater control int he water. A structure that large is going to produce a great deal of wind/water resistance if turned broad-side toward incoming currents or wind. However, if faced directly at incoming currents/wind, the sail provides aerodynamic flow - allowing the animal to "cut" through both water and wind! :)

SPINOSAURUS REX - That's an interesting assertion. Where in the FAQ does it say "Spinosaurus vs. Tyrannosaurus battles in the JW Forum are prohibited"? As far as I've been able to uncover, the only articles that are restricted are those which are considered "controversial" or "inflamatory". Naturally, the type of combat MYSTIQUE has presented could very easily become a controversial topic if - and I place great emphasis on the word "if" - another party involved in its viewing has intentions to misconstrue and/or take offense to its content. What has been presented is a very entertaining and non-biased rendition of a classic battle that has captured the imaginations of many - presenting us with a resounding "what if?". The title "Tyrannosaurus Rex vs. Spinosaurus" could very easily hide an underlying agenda to debase one of the contestants in an effort to assert one's biased preferrence - at which point the title itself could very easily be lumped in with the controversial material that has been restricted. Thus, if any of us are affronted by MYSTIQUE'S work, we could feasibly ask that the title be changed on the grounds that it is, as you've observed, prohibited. However, the material underlying the title is anything but controversial or inflamatory. Quite the contrary; it is a work of entertainment to which the author has dedicated a great deal of time and effort in a decision to present something to the community we as a whole can enjoy. We should look to it as an example of what we can acheive as a forum; a point of delighted interest where hot topics all too often lead to heated arguments. If we're to enjoy these forums as a community, we must look beyond petty argument for its own sake. That is anathema to healthy discourse.

@ rex fan, how do not agree with me????? I said the same thing that you just said. And sonethi real, thanks what are your thoughts on its sail?

Probably the best fight between a Spino and a Rex I have ever read!  Thank you Mystique!

It's refreshing to have a battle end in a surrender instead of death.

TYRANT KING - I agree. MYSTIQUE'S presentation was both engaging and designed solely with the intention to entertain. There was absolutely nothing negative or inflamatory within this piece and should thusly be judged upon its enjoyable merrits - of which there are many! :)

DINOSTEVE93 - That's a very neat idea! I agree; a battle between what are held to be "up-to-date" versions of Tyranosaurus and Spinosaurus would be quite compelling! Perhaps a showdown over the body of a hadrosaur in which T-Rex has moved in an attempt to steal a kill the Spinosaurus has recently made upon the water's edge? That seems like a feasible scenario! :)

TYRANT KING - Hmm, the sail as a decoy? That's an incredibly interesting hypothesis - and very much outside the norm! I like it a great deal! Thank you for providing such an "outside of the box" notion! :)

Awesome. Baryonyx is a good guess since it was supposidly on Isla Nublar in the first park and it was originally meant to be the main villain of JP III.

I agree with Carnosaur on the Spinosaurus/Sarcosuchus relationship. Sarcosuchus lived 112 million years ago and Spinosaurus lived 97-112 million years ago. In the grand scheme of things, a few million years isn't that much and I bet there was some overlap(same with Spinosaurus and Ouranosaurus). Suchomimus actually lived 113-121 million years ago, just to point that out.

Ugh, please kill me now. I understand everything the raptor says (it's an old romanian song I hate xD). It's freaking hilarious though.

Are these JP based T.rex and Spinosaurus?

It would be awesome if someone'd make a realistic fight between real life Tyrannosaurus and Spinosaurus. Maybe not really a fight, maybe a possible showdown between the two, like what would happen if Tyrannosaurus lived alongside Spinosaurus and they met with bad intentions. It would be very interesting, for me at least (and no, I don't care if it's rex vs spino, people have to get over it already)

Im pretty sure it was made clear that it was a violation against forum rules to make one of these, good fight or not, it shouldnt have been created, or posted anyways.

I don't think I've seen it before, but it was hilarious. Especially when the raptor got really close to the screen.

Nice fight!!! :D I was rooting for Spino, and I was glad he won. (When I first saw the title, I was like "oh no...")

@ carnosaur, I just now realized my fatal error of putting oranosaurus with spinosaurus since it lived a million or two years ago. Sacrosuchus lived with suchomimus and when suchomimus died out spinosaurus arose to fill the niche. Sacrosuchus and spinosaurus saw each other only occasionally. Sacrosuchus was dying out at that time so it wasn't a huge compitition between the two as you purpose. I know that the predators outnumber the herbivores 3:1. I have been thinking and researching this mysterious mystery for a whole now and have come to the conclusion that the present herbivores( paralatitan, hadrosaurid) were extremely plentiful and probably had many individuals.and thlo predators would have hunted, dun dun dun..... EACHOTHER. Since there are so few prey species they would probably hunt, kill, and eat smaller predator. Now I saw smaller cause if the predator was to big it could kill the hunter.@ something real, I think that spinosaurus could stay submergean anywhere from 45 minutes to 2 hours. Ths sail would be a decoy to destract unwary animals who have come for a drink.

Thanks guys.

Carno, perhaps it was, but sometimes some people get the wrong idea and go to the deep end just because. This was purely entertainment, it doesn't mean anything, it wasn't meant to offend anyone.

Allotitan, I know. I was going to wait until 6000, but seeing this fight just sitting since before I hit 5000 was bugging me. FF finale will be 6000.

That was awesome. Although I always root for Rex in this fight, I dont really mind who wins, as both are my favourite dinosaurs, and if they would really clash, the outcome who always be different, as it would depend on the specific individual of the species :)
