Reminded me of ExistenZ's part where the dude builds a gun that fires teeth, out of the creature he is eating.

I love the idea.....but how about if there was a Dinosaur pushing through the black background like Freddy Kruger in the one scene from A Nightmare On Elm Street?
Kinda so you couldn't tell what Dinosaur it was exactly?
Now THAT would be a teaser I'd enjoy!

I also was thinking of a large dromaeosaurid like the Austroraptor.

Yes, this one is fan made. But made to be a teaser to get people excited for JP4. It's not super intense with a lot of cool graphics, but just enough to make you go "Oh, I can't wait for this" which I think it's done a fine job of.
I encourage others to submit their own fan-made Jurassic Park 4 posters here as well!

[img]http:/images.Wikia.com/jurassicpark/images/f/f0/D/img]I would really like to see Ceolophysis a so called cannibalistic Theropod of the Late Triassic which lived 228-200 million years ago, first described in 1881, found in U.S.A., it's length was about c.3 m (10 ft) and it weighed around 20-30 kg (44-66 lb). It's famous for the location of it's discovery the Ghost Ranch in New Mexico. It was uncovered in 1947 by Edwin Colbert who died just 11 years ago.

Brachiosaurus was shown in the first movie and never repeated. That dino maybe slow but is attractive for scenery.

Welcome Limbix, your threads a re great and informative! Welcome to the community.
As for JP4 and the clash of the companies, I think that's a great path for the studio to take. They said JP4 will kick start another 3 films, so diving into those other aspects of the franchise can open those doors of expansion.
I would like to see new dinos for sure, but bring Rex back in a superior role. Have a rematch between him and Spinosaurus and have the Rex dominate, to re-establish him as #1. And I would like to see how Spinosaurus and Ceratosaurus and all those other dinos came to be in JP3 that were not seen in the previous JP films.

In the originial book Jurassic Park, there is mentioned some other species of Raptors but they were too dangerous. So they were not displayed. It is only hinted to in the book but we are made to think they were Raptors of another species. This maybe where the feathered Raptors come from.

@Equitrance In fact, I agree that the other two had better action scenes, but the first is my favorite overally. The plane and pteranodon sequences in JP3 were awesome!

@Eustreptospondylus 54, yeah is a very interesting period indeed and btw I think a Sarcosuchus or Deinonychus attacking a T-Rex would be nice :p

@Shambhala The devonian is one of my favorite periods...that's when fish started evolving into super-predators like stethacanthus, hyneria and, like you mentioned, Dunkleosteus.
ReplyshambsJurassic World ForumThe Oceans of Prehistoric EarthAug 8, 2012
LOL sorry, I made a big mistake with the Dunkleosteus...because the DNA comes from mosquitoes fossilized in amber so it is impossible that an marine animal of the Devonian can be revived by bioengineering. XDD
ReplyshambsDinosaurs ForumT-rex/Spinosaurus confrontAug 8, 2012
The Spinosaurus was an animal designed for fishing, but it is impossible that the Spino could feed his huge body only with fish, then is probably that the Spino was a super predator in its environment, with only the competition of predator Carcharodontosaurus and Sarcosuchus. Despite this their jaws are not endowed with the power to crush bones; and yeah, In JP3 the T-Rex used its enormous pressure on the neck of the Spinosaur and this seems just tickled during the attack...Something obviously not very realistic.
Respect whit the Giganotosaurus, well this point is highly dependent on predator and prey...for example the Tarbosaurus, yeah I know, this creature is very similar to the T-rex...but his bite was not as flexible. The T-Rex evolved to kill hard prey as the Triceratops. At the other extreme we have a Tarbosaurus that evolved to kill sauropods as the Nemegtosaurus.
In the case of Giganotosaurus we see something similar to Allosaurus, a creature with jaws weak but with plans and sharp teeth like daggers, to tear the skin of the sauropods. The T-Rex had teeth dense and thick like bullets.
Now in a battle undoubtedly would win the T-Rex, but the Giga would give a good fight, even more better than the Spinosaurus IMHO.
ReplyshambsJurassic World ForumHerbivores you'd like to see in JP4Aug 8, 2012
Therizinosaurus are exotic and interesting for a movie and on the other hand we have the Iguanodon, Gastonia, Kentrosaurus, Amargasaurus, Chasmosaurus, Argentinosaurus (world's largest), etc.
Ankylosaurus may be a worthy opponent for any predator IMO, and of course the favorite prey of the Tyrannosaurus Rex, the Anatotitan.
ReplyshambsJurassic World ForumInGen Vs BioSyn Vs HammondAug 8, 2012
I agree with that the Tyrannosaurus and Velociraptor are icons of the franchise and at the same time can also be interesting to see a fight between the companies (maybe a plot between Jurassic Park and The Lost World) and certainly this film must tie up loose ends (especially with Biosyn). In fact I wonder if we will see some dinosaurs that are hybrids results of experiments with some purpose.
With the scientific contingency I do not know, for example...Will we see the velociraptors with feathers?
ReplyThe LimbixDinosaurs ForumT-rex/Spinosaurus confrontAug 7, 2012
The tests of Giganotosaurus bones have suggested that it did not have anywhere near the bone density of a T-Rex, so ignoring muscle density and strength, T-Rex would have a good chance of killing a Giganotosaurus as well.
Another theory, although I am unsure how proven it is suggests that Giganotosaurus evolved over a smaller period of time ("evolutionarly" speaking) quicker than most dinos it's size. With lack of a better term, evolution had not worked out all the kinks yet, unfortunately it was not allowed to evolve more dense bone.
T-Rex, it's hard to find another dino, of that size, so well evolved for killing.
ReplyChrisDinosaurs ForumT-rex/Spinosaurus confrontAug 7, 2012
I agree, Rex should have won 10 times out of 10. Like you said Limbix, Rex's jaws were designed to crush bone and in JP3, when the Rex got his jaws around the Spinosauruses neck, it should have been all over. He would've crushed the Spino's vertebrae and crunched every bone in his neck, cutting off air and killing the Spino in minutes.
It was pure Hollywood effects to make a bigger, nastier opponent out of a dinosaur that was bigger than T-Rex.
In all honesty, I think Giganotosaurus would have been a better opponent to Rex, though I've read that even Gigantosaurus may have had trouble defeating a Rex in combat, due to their bit force and brain capacity.
This is a great topic, and one that I thoroughly enjoy discussing, ever since I saw JP3 ages ago.
ReplyXenomorph 54Dinosaurs ForumT-rex/Spinosaurus confrontAug 7, 2012
@Limbix Yes, some of the deciptions in JP are incorrect, like the Raptor and dilophosaurus....
And I agree with you too on Horner's arguments regarding T-rex...and triceratops.
ReplyThe LimbixDinosaurs ForumT-rex/Spinosaurus confrontAug 7, 2012
There is no doubt that Jack Horner is a palaeontology genius, with his work on re-creating a living dino by reactivating ancestral genes in modern day birds, but I think his theory on T-Rex being a complete scavenger is wrong.
Yes he his huge, yes over long distance he may have been slow.
But short distance he would have been fast and possibly attacked his prey from the edge of jungle or bush.
T-rex had a very strong muscular structure, mostly focusing around the skull and neck but evident to extend over his entire body.
The bone density of the skull is high showing huge pressure was applied though the skull.
Also with length comes risk of injury, (ask any tall person) longer bones snap easier. The Spino was long it was, for a massive and intimidating predator, fragile.
I think the case is honestly closed on this, T- Rex would have killed the Spino. Especially if there was no chase between the dinos. It's bight pressure would have made sure of it.
However as Jack Horner said when working on the JP series, Jurassic Park was not really about facts, more about the imagination, fear, and wonder that such creatures give us. (Rex should have won).

Also with Jurassic Park: The Game having a marine facility around Isla Nubla, it is totally possible that a marine predator could be included. However it all depends on if they script writers take us back to the islands or not. Also with the Marine Facility not being in the books, who knows if it was destroyed when the Costa Rican government napalmed the island.
All I can imagine is Moby Dick kinda movie where the Navy are hunting down a massive sea creature that is killing fisherman and destroying boats (or Jaws, and Lake Placid type movie).
But the idea to include a new predator may allow for at least some marine threat, here is hoping any ways.

Carnotaurus remains have actually been found with tissue samples attached (fossilized of course). And study of this fossilized tissue has proved some very large similarities between chameleon cells and the Carnotaurus skin cells. It would be really awesome to include this in JP4.
However I really do not think that you can take away the fame from the T-Rex. I mean they tried it with JP3 and it did not really work, people liked the Spinosaur I think everyone prefers the T-Rex due the original movie.
Also the Raptors are a huge part of the both the books and the movie. I really think that the Rex and the Raptors have to be included. But there will be room for more of course I think Carnotaurus could fill the spot perfectly.
Carnotaurus has stealth, the Raptors are smart (and awesome) and the Rex has brute strength... I don't know if we will see the Spino again, I guess that all depends if the movie is set back on Isla Sorna.
