I think Eric because he doesn't have a girl screaming and giving away his hiding position. Plus, he was there the longest and had survival skills
ReplyMakaveli7Dinosaurs ForumEkrixinatosaurus vs TarbosaurusJul 29, 2013
I'll actually flip to Ekrixinatosaurus. It is the more heavily muscled animal pound for pound by a little bit, it has a small headbutting advantage, a crushing bite that is only slightly less powerful than Tarbo's, it likely had a very small speed advantage and some armored skin. I see it escaping with a win because Tarbosaurus only has a longer skull, a small length advantage, a slightly more powerful bite and more devastating teeth. Its a very close one but I'll say Ekrixinatosaurus manages to take down Tarbosaurus or this ends in a draw.

Daspletosaurus was like a mini tyrannosaurus. Very robust for its size.
ReplyDeltadromeusDinosaurs ForumEkrixinatosaurus vs TarbosaurusJul 29, 2013
I recant my previous statement that Ekrixinatosaurus would win. Tarbo can a run fast for a tyrannosaur. Ekrixinatosaurus probably couldn't beat 25 mph. Something Tarbo could to too. The vision is going to be poor for both of them. The Ekrixinatosaurus has a bit of armor in its back to help protect it. I do think Tarbo would win. He is a lot smarter, and has about everything that Ekrixinatosaurus has.

That skull picture looks just like a nanotyrannus. It even has the little jaw curve.

Well Future, can you blame it? Jurassic Fight Club is one of the greatest dino documentaries in all of history. Jp doesn't count as a dino documentary. It is basically the tv version of DinoFights.

Mapusaurus is longer than Giganotosaurus. We have pubic material of Mapusaurus about 10 % larger than those of Giganotosaurus holotype.

ReplyPhilosiraptorDinosaurs ForumEkrixinatosaurus vs TarbosaurusJul 28, 2013
Actually it looks like Ekrixinatosaurus has a .5-1.5 ton weight advantage because Tarbosaurus was relatively slim for a Tyrannosaur and would have weighed about 8 tons.
Based on Carnotaurus, estimated to be able to run 43 mph, Ekrixinatosaurus would be able to run very fast too because of its short tail and powerful legs that it shared with its cousin. 35 is conservative.

I think a season 2 would be cool. I'm not sure how many other people would watch season 2, but count me in!

I found some pictures. A is "X" and B is Rex.

Gret job. I loved Jurassic Fight Club too. They should have made one with Ekrixinatosaurus vs Giganotosaurus.

Numbers won the day. Size did not matter. No animal can withstand that many attacks.

Even though I don't think Spino was heavier than Rex or Giga, it was certainly longer. I still say 56 ft long. If someone wants to say it's more than that, ok. But I'm sticking with 56 ft unless they find a good skeleton that's more. But that's just me ;)
ReplyRex Fan 684Dinosaurs ForumNew Species: Tyrannosaurus XJul 28, 2013
Yeah. I think that would help.
ReplyRex Fan 684Dinosaurs ForumEkrixinatosaurus vs TarbosaurusJul 28, 2013
Tarbosaurus is slightly bigger and most importantly, smarter. While Ekrix would put up a fight, Tarbo would probably win in the long run.
PS- Spyrannosaurus, I don't full agree with you on some of the Ekrix info. 35 miles per hour seems a little fast for one thing.

Watch this become the new Nano T. controversy. I think it might be possible but I'd need to see the fossils that the team brought in.
ReplyRex Fan 684Dinosaurs ForumNew Species: Tyrannosaurus XJul 28, 2013
Interesting. I assume the remains are not very well preserved. I don't think it's a NanoT. I really don't see adult Nanos getting past 20-23 ft. It may just be a Tyrannosaurus rex. There's also been the Tyrannosaurus imperator or however you spell the species name, but it was found to just be a Tyrannosaurus rex.

I'm gonna say Tim for me from both the book and movie versions being how he reminded me as a kid when I was all nut crazy about dinosaurs, still am now of course haha. I also like Lex as well, pretty much Lex and Tim are my only favorites of the JP franchise, probably because they spent time with Dr. Grant and how in the movie version they changed his mind about liking kids or not.
ReplyLord VaderDinosaurs ForumEkrixinatosaurus vs TarbosaurusJul 28, 2013
Length doesn't mean much in a fight. It comes down to overall weight and strength (if there are no variables). I'd like to say Tarbo due to it's bigger teeth, and Tarbo could headbutt pretty good too. I say Tarbo, but by a small amount.
ReplyMakaveli7Dinosaurs ForumEkrixinatosaurus vs TarbosaurusJul 28, 2013
Short faced Tyrannosaurus vs slightly smaller Tyrannosaurus... I'd say Tarbosaurus has a 50-55% chance of taking this
ReplyCarnotitanDinosaurs ForumEkrixinatosaurus vs TarbosaurusJul 28, 2013
Ekrixinatosaurus slays the Tarbosaurus like Livyatan slays Triassic Kraken. Epic battle, but in the end the more powerful animal wins.
ReplyDeltadromeusDinosaurs ForumNew Species: Tyrannosaurus XJul 28, 2013
New species. Nanotyrannus is still really heavy for its size.
ReplyNo longer activeDinosaurs ForumNew Species: Tyrannosaurus XJul 28, 2013
True. It probably handled medium sized prey like Parasaurolophus while Rex handled Edmontosaurus, Triceratops, Ankylosaurus and other larger prey.
ReplyLord VaderDinosaurs ForumNew Species: Tyrannosaurus XJul 28, 2013
That's pretty interesting. Maybe a Nanotyrannus. Still might not be a match for a T-Rex due to being so light.
ReplyNo longer activeDinosaurs ForumNew Species: Tyrannosaurus XJul 28, 2013
Hmm... I think it could be Nanotyrannus.

ReplyMakaveli7Dinosaurs ForumClash of Similarities Day 2: Mapusaurus roseae vs Giganotosaurus caroliniiJul 28, 2013
I wonder if Mapu could beat Giga in a face to face fight with no variables. It had the evolutionary intelligence advantage and speed plus agility, but Giga had weight and possibly length as well as a longer skull.

@Delta -- Even so, this never happened, so there is no actual contact. How in the world would the raptors have brought down Spino, anyway?
ReplyDinosaur.FanaticDinosaurs ForumTop 20 Longest Theropods - Update VersionJul 28, 2013
Haha, I'm great with the list as long as Spino's number 1!
ReplyDinosaur.FanaticDinosaurs ForumClash of the Theropods - Giganotosaurus vs SpinosaurusJul 28, 2013
I'm having trouble following your writing. Be extra cautious with typos and the like. I also feel that the first part of the fight should have been longer, and I think that Spino's abilities could have been much better utilized. It is understandable, though, that Spino would be greatly weakened if it was caught off-guard by a huge bite on the neck.
ReplyDinosaur.FanaticJurassic Park ForumFavorite Jurassic Park KidJul 28, 2013
I think the book versions of Lex and Tim would do better. Tim is the one with the smarts and he is more mature. When Lex gets freaked out she tends to listen better. They might just beat Eric. On the other hand, the movie Lex and Tim would be dead quick. Tim is smart, but younger and less capable. Lex is a hacker, but that doesn't get you far in the wild. Plus, without other people helping, besides the kitchen scene, they don't tend to do very well alone. I think Eric is the best bet because he is independent. Yes, take away his supplies and he's in trouble, but he is resourceful.
ReplyDeltadromeusJurassic Park ForumFavorite Jurassic Park KidJul 28, 2013
Brother and sister. That combination can do great things. They could look after each other. If a raptor kills Eric, then he's dead, if a raptor kills Tim, then Lex is still there to live longer.
ReplyDinosaur.FanaticJurassic Park ForumFavorite Jurassic Park KidJul 28, 2013
I personally think Eric. He has all of Tim's advantages and knowledge, he survived eight weeks without help from anyone, and he doesn't have another person to take care of / get in the way. Why do you say Lex and Tim Delta?
